Food: banana pudding was banana soup – it looked yummy on top but once I put my spoon inside it was a soup and had bits of old bananas
Mac n cheese with brisket. – it was ok for an appetizer. the portion was a good size. It just seemed that it had been sitting and was on its last few minutes to be served.
The service. Wow! There were two people and one was the bartender. The lady who served is kept forgetting about our table, a six top ordered their food and got their food between us getting our appetizers and us having to remind her that we didn’t have our food order. She forgot to put in my friends food order and didn’t apologize but put it in when she brought our food out. His food was the freshest out of all of ours. I asked for BBQ sauce and never got it. My friend asked for lids for her old sides and she ended up walking out without lids. We had to ask for our bills after finishing eating because they had closed and the lady was cleaning and had turned the music up forgetting about us. She got our orders wrong when she split the check.
We started our experience at 8 pm and ended at 10:15 pm. I wish we had the male server who was very attentive to his customers.
The fries were upcharged which is fine BUT they were not cooked all the way and were LIMP! The hot honey chicken was a great concept but it was over seasoned (it blew my pallet) and overcooked. So much so, that the chicken was chewy. The brisket had great flavor, smoke ring and bark but was dry as the Sahara Desert as well. I love brisket so this made me sad. The greens were sweet (which is weird to me so someone else might like them lol) and the mac and cheese did not have that much flavor.
Unfortunately, I don’t think I will be back. My husband was not happy with his food. He said the ribs were way to salty and couldn’t finish them. He literally only ate one bone. I am extremely disappointed.
I tried the breakfast burrito and though it was really good! Filled with brisket and pulled pork, but it needed a little something extra like smothered in their cheese sauce or something crunchy inside.
I will be back and hopefully remember to ask them to add something to it. But there is a ton of other awesome looking items on the menu that I will probably give a try.
I had the brisket sandwich combo which came with the house chips. The sandwich was very tasty but could have used a bit more meat. The sauces on the table added just the right amount of additional flavor. The chips were very good and plentiful. The four pickle slices had a nice but too them.
All in all, definitely worth a stop and will be doing so again.
Upon walking in, you’re immediately hit with that wonderful, warm, smokey wood-burning smell. For me at least, that comfortable aroma puts me immediately at ease.
The service was mostly attentive and friendly, asking right off-the-bat what I wanted to sample. Most of the beer is standard Arcadia fare that you can get anywhere.
The meat that I tried – brisket and pork belly – was mouth-watering, though a wee bit on the dry side. The brisket had so much flavor, the dryness didn’t matter. The food I got was a to-go order and I was disappointed that the cornbread was missed. Pricing is high. My 12 oz beer was $9.
