I visited Ziya for the first time yesterday with a friend. She liked it so much, she booked a table for Christmas Day.
We were seated upstairs, which suited us as there was live music downstairs and we wanted to talk and catch up. The restaurant was clean and the servers were very attentive.
The menu had a variety of options, making it ideal for vegetarians, meat eaters and pescatarians alike. My only criticism would be that the menu descriptions seemed to focus more on vibes than taste. There was no indication of spice levels and the descriptions didn’t really tell me what flavours to expect from some of the dishes.
The menu may not have been descriptive in the right way but every single item we ordered was excellent. Fresh, flavourful and delicious, everything we ordered was stunning. A very kind waitress helped us negotiate how to eat the Paani and Dahi Puri, which were total flavour explosions, and the okra fries were amazing.
I highly recommend the Murgh Techa Masaledar and the Chicken Chetinadu. Both were mouthwatering and bursting with flavour. Portions were generous and we couldn’t fault a single bite.

Absolutely glorious, portions are huge me and my friend shared a dish of rice with our curries. We’re not ones to share either!!! Flavour and spice is amazeballs <3 definitely coming back!

This was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had.
The pav bhaji was terrible — it had a strong, unpleasant smell, as if it was old or reheated multiple times. The bhaji tasted stale, oily, and completely lacking freshness. It honestly felt like leftover food being served. Even the garnish couldn’t hide how bad it was.
The fries were extremely dry, hard, and clearly not freshly made. They looked and tasted like leftover fries reheated again, with no crispiness, no flavour, and no care. Completely inedible.
Presentation was poor, hygiene looked questionable, and the overall quality was unacceptable. For the price charged, this kind of food is an insult to customers. No freshness, no taste, no standards.
This place clearly does not care about food quality or customer experience. I strongly do NOT recommend this restaurant to anyone. Save your money and eat elsewhere.

Best curry I’ve had. And I’ve eaten a lot of curries. I had the Namkeen gosht, a fantastically rich and savoury lamb curry with the right spice level. The naan was also fantastic and so fresh out of the tandoor.

Staff were friendly, the popadoms are ok but the lack of sauces is really bad, only 2 sauces for £5 wow thats terrible, everywhere else gives like 4 to 5 sauces.
My friend and me ordered our starters and chose chips with them, my chips was missing, we were still charged for this, you can see in the picture there is no chips, the waitress insisted the chips were in the dish, you decide if you can see any chips haha, must be magical chips, also said there is no price difference of having chips or not, but the menu says differently.
My starter the indo chinese was very bad, everything was very very overly tangy, there wasn’t anything indo chinese about it, the chicken lollipops were nice, i wasn’t expecting the rest of it to be fish, there was maybe 1 piece of chicken in it, rest was tangy fish bites, very poor, the long prawns were ok but had no taste, just tasted like battered prawns haha, and you can see in the picture they just plain not seasoning, no marination. I still don’t know why this restuarant was on my to go list as it was very poor.
The next thing is the table next to us with the man in the suit was overly favoured over us, they got all their food first, they got their starters and finished them, got their mains, and still our starters hadn’t come, they prioritised the rich looking gentleman rather than giving a fair service to all customers. We waited very long time for starters close to 20 minutes or more, the place was dead inside only 3 tables of 2, no takeaways, so why they were struggling i couldn’t tell you.
The next thing is the curry was pretty nice, but was very big thieffery, there was maybe 3 pieces of chicken in the entire curry, i was left with half my rice left as i had nothing to eat it with. The starters had more stuff to eat in them haha.
Sort it out man otherwise this place won’t be around for future if this is how you look after customers.

Amazing food and an excellent ambiance! The customer service was outstanding — special thanks to Nikki, who perfectly understood my taste and recommended dishes that turned out to be spot on. The bartender was also at the top of his game. This place is an absolute must-visit!

my girlfriend and i went here for a lunch date and it’s going to quickly become one of our faves! the curries were SO incredible, and the breads were cooked to perfection. we ordered a jug of mango and pineapple lassi and it was a lot for two people, so i’d only suggest it to groups of 4+. the restaurant was super quiet, with only one or two other tables, but i guess that’s probably typical of thursday lunchtimes. swapnil was our server and he was very speedy and happy to help out and offer comments on the dishes we ordered. thank you!
