The baked chicken was tender and juicy, sitting over dressing soaked in rich, savory gravy. You can tell it wasn’t rushed — the flavor went all the way through. The mac and cheese had that classic baked texture with a good cheese pull and just enough black pepper to give it personality. The collard greens were soft, well-seasoned, and not overly salty — balanced the plate perfectly. The cornbread was golden on the outside, moist on the inside, and paired well with everything.
The candied yams were a standout. Thick-cut, glazed just right, sweet but not overwhelming — exactly how they should be. Even the drink was on point and refreshing.
Portion sizes were solid, especially for the price. It’s the kind of meal that fills you up and still leaves you thinking about it later.

Good food, good portions. I got the short ribs with mac & cheese , yams, and they put mashed potatoes at the bottom and they gave me A cornbread I also purchased the blue raspberry lemonade and the peach lemonade. The food was so good and again you’re able to split it with people or take some home for later. Save it for the next day for lunch. Just really depends if you want to eat all of it in one setting or split it up. The lemonades were a little too sweet for my preference, but they were still good though.

I’ve seen this place for years and have never stopped by. I’ve been missing out! I was craving some soul food and decided to try this place. I ordered the fried pork chops! They were amazing. Just out the grease and seasoned to perfection. For the sides I had cabbage and mac. They hit the spot as well. The cornbread muffin was also very good. I finished the meal off with banana pudding. Customer service was also pleasant. everyone was friendly and helpful. Pricing is also affordable. I will definitely be back soon.

Everyone was very attentive and on point. The food was amazing and the people were even more amazing. Everyone checked on us multiple times to make sure we are ok. Manager checked on the table and built such an amazing conversation with us. We felt very comfortable.

I ordered the Cajun jerk chicken with dressing (no turkey wings), mac & cheese, and lima beans—everything was seasoned perfectly and cooked just right. Comfort food at its finest.
My boyfriend got the 4-piece wing style chicken with mac & cheese and candied yams, and he was just as impressed. The flavors were on point and portions were solid.
What really stood out was the care and pride behind the food—we even called the owner personally to thank him because the experience was that good. Supporting a Black-owned business in the community like this feels good, especially when the food delivers every time.

Only reason the place even gets a star is because an employee helped me bring my food to my car. The meatloaf was over seasoned. The fried turkey wings were pathetic, dried to the point that you might as well call it Jerky turkey the dressing looks and taste like stove top dressing. The price is extremely high for the quality of food being served. I paid over $70 for complete trash. I will never go back to this place. Y’all should check out A-1 sould food the prices are reasonable and they have some of the best soul food in the A.

My husband and I stopped by Big Daddy’s Kitchen on our way from Atlanta visiting my family to head back on the road. We had a taste for something home cooked, with flavor, and with southern charm. This restaurant felt like home and history at the same time.BDK was that and more. The staff greeted us as soon as we walked into the door. We were met with a table full of desserts. The staff behind the counter were nice and patient with us as we were out of towners new to the setup and routine on how to order. Later, the owner or manager came to give us extra items to enjoy our dining experience and shared some good conversations. We also got well more than what I expected for our oxtail meal in portions! The food tasted phenomenal! We later saw other customers come to sit and enjoy which is rare these days because most people get their food and go. The funny thing is we saw this restaurant in passing in looking for another restaurant in wanting to try something new and got a different vibe when we walked in, so we left and remembered BDK on the same road. We will definitely be back to visit. Thanks Big Daddy’s Kitchen for the experience! ❤️
