Cookout has really good food for really low prices. Cookouts hours are really awesome and unique; they are rarely ever closed you can not find a resuturant with others like cookout they really are the best! No matter the time of day or night the workers there are always in a good mood and do their job to the best they can.The service at Cookout is always good. I have never had a bad experience there. Going there with your freinds will help you meet new friends because their are always students there. It’s a very clean establishment everything from the outside to the inside bathrooms it is very put together and organized. The food is also amazing and their shakes are to die for. The parking is not the greatest as it is very limited but even when you go to cookout you are usually not driving.

Cook Out in Lexington is seriously one of the best places to grab food late at night. It’s cheap, fast, and always hits the spot after hanging out with friends or coming back from a game. The trays are the best deal because you get a main item, two sides, and a drink for a super low price. My go-to order is a cheeseburger tray with fries and a chicken quesadilla, plus a milkshake on the side. The milkshakes are thick and creamy, and there are so many flavors that it’s hard to choose just one. The line, especially at night, can be pretty long, but the food makes it totally worth the wait. It’s not fancy at all, but that’s part of what makes Cook Out so fun. It’s definitely a classic college hangout spot in Lexington and always gives off good, casual vibes.
Cook Out in Lexington is honestly a lifesaver when you’re hungry late at night and don’t want to spend a ton of money. It’s super affordable, and the portions are huge. The menu has a crazy amount of options, so there’s always something for everyone. I usually get a tray with chicken tenders, hush puppies, and fries, and it’s always hot and fresh. The milkshakes are definitely the star of the show though, super thick and packed with flavor. I’ve tried Oreo and banana pudding, and both were amazing. The place can get really busy, especially on weekends, but it’s part of the fun since there are always other college students there. It’s not a sit-down restaurant or anything fancy, but it’s perfect for a quick meal that’s filling and delicious. Cook Out has become one of my favorite spots since moving to Lexington.
Cook Out is such a staple in Lexington, especially for college students looking for cheap and good food. I love that you can mix and match whatever you want on the tray menu, it’s fun to try new combinations every time. My favorite is a chicken sandwich tray with fries and onion rings, plus a peanut butter milkshake. Everything always tastes fresh and flavorful, and it never takes too long to get your food. The staff is usually really nice, even when it’s packed late at night, which it always is on weekends. The drive-thru line can get a little crazy, but it moves quicker than you’d expect. The best part about Cook Out is how it’s kind of a social spot too, everyone from campus ends up there at some point. It’s definitely one of those go-to places that makes Lexington feel like home.

Sat in the drive-thru for over 30 mins. I ordered Cajun cheese fries and there’s literally a sprinkle of season and the tiniest amount of cheese possible. Barely anything even on the quesadilla.

he burger is juicy and hits the spot, and the crinkle-cut fries are perfectly crispy and seasoned. the service is fast, so you’re not waiting around long.
the interior is pretty simple, but it works — nothing fancy, just a straightforward vibe that feels comfortable. great!

this was one of the worst experience I’ve ever had at cookout I’ve been to cookouts all over the state of North Carolina and never had to deal with the things that I have dealt with with this cookout. milkshakes was ike liquid. every time I have ever gone to cook out before today the milkshakes have been thick and amazing. the employees act like they hate their jobs and one corn dog and two milkshakes cost me $17,

Went to cookout on 12/7/25 and went through the drive thru at about 11:25pm. The person handing me my milkshake vaped and blew the vape juice in my face as if I wouldn’t notice. Absolutely disgusting and will not be back to this location.

I went through the drive through around 2 am. First time going. Pretty simple. 2 drive throughs. They quickly took my order and then gave the food to me. In and out within 8 minutes, which is amazing considering how packed they were for a Saturday night.

Perfect place for college students or anyone that stays up late that has late night munchies. It’s not gourmet by any means but it’s definitely more tasty than McDonald’s or Wendy’s mine times out of 10. And the menu is affordable which is hard to come by these days
