Reviews
We ordered the baked pork chop over pasta with tomato sauce and cheese, salt and pepper squid and wings, and the salted crispy pork knuckle. Everything was delicious. The baked pork chop was comforting and flavorful with a nice balance of sauce and cheese. The squid and wings were crispy, well-seasoned, and perfect for sharing. The pork knuckle was the standout for me. Super crispy on the outside and still juicy inside. That said, the portions are a bit on the smaller side compared to places like Delicious Food Corner and some other HK cafes, especially given how good the food is.
Service was amazing because they kept coming over to refill our drinks and asked if we needed anything else.
For drinks, I got the iced lemon tea, which was refreshing and not overly sweet. My dad ordered the iced milk tea and coffee and enjoyed both. Solid HK cafe drinks that pair well with the food.
The ambiance is a big plus. The neon lights, wall art, and street scene paintings really make it feel like you are back in Hong Kong. It does get a little loud during lunchtime, but we were still able to have a normal conversation without raising our voices.
Parking can be challenging during lunch hours, but with a bit of patience, we were able to find free street parking because the free public lot fills up quickly. Overall, great food, great vibe, and definitely a spot I would come back to.
If you’re looking for a genuinely authentic and cozy Hong Kong Cha Chaan Teng (cafe) experience right here in the SGV, Alice’s Kitchen is an absolutely wonderful choice. The atmosphere is vibrant, the food is authentic, and the portions are incredibly generous—you’re guaranteed to leave satisfied!
This place is truly a hidden gem. First off, the decor, complete with nostalgic Hong Kong memorabilia, creates a charming and unique atmosphere that genuinely makes you feel like you’ve stepped back in time. As for the food, they execute the classic HK dishes perfectly, but in a cleaner, less greasy style. You absolutely must try the Baked Pork Chop Rice in Tomato Sauce or the amazing Ovaltine French Toast for breakfast. The portions here are also incredibly generous, meaning you get great value for your money and often have satisfying leftovers! Even though the restaurant gets busy, the staff remains friendly and quick with service and drink refills (especially the signature HK Iced Lemon Tea).
CRUCIAL PARKING TIP (MUST READ!): You DO NOT need to battle for street parking on busy Las Tunas Drive. Alice’s Kitchen has PLENTY of dedicated parking spots in the lot located behind the building.
We’d come back if we crave their menu of items, or have interest in certain items not in other restaurants.
Chinese broccoli $16.50
Stir fry string bean $14.99
Deep fried pork chop with spicy salt $15.50
Sizzling hot pot chicken $16.50
Seafood crispy noodle (couldn’t find it on the menu but they had it).
Was told the take out will be ready in 20-25 mins, I went out and came back around 10:35AM, I kindly asked her the take out is ready or not, she was nearly yelling at me, saying that – she cannot see the number. At this moment, I was really have enough of this; so I handed the receipt to her, she went to the take out deck; checked for nearly 5 mins; and came back told me – “Sorry, I think I gave your order to some random girl”.
If she was nice in the beginning, then I would be very sympathetic and understanding… but she was giving me a hard time since beginning.
It was raining today, hard to find parking spot, everyone are very frustrated, I think the least you can do is to provided some good service and smile.
Now I am waiting and sitting here, for her to “correct her mistakes” and she did not even do me formal apology.
I normally do not leave bad review for businesses, but if they keep doing this, I don’t think “good food” will be the only factor to keep the customers.
The second time I came here was on a Sunday breakfast/brunch time. They have an iPad to sign up/check-in as they were packed. I was waiting in the back closer to the parking lot entrance. However, the host has been skipping my number and has been calling people who arrived after me. I finally went to her and asked her. She was not very nice, nonchalant, and disrespectful by saying “I called you!” I told her that I have been standing here, but did not hear my number if she can give me to next available table. She then gave me the table next to the exit where everyone was waiting.
We ordered porridge and a fried noodle. However, food had lack of flavor. Highly suggest that they manage their quality control and service, especially during business hours.
2024 4 stars:
Came here for the first time because I want to try their ovaltine french toast. We parked on Las Tunas, and there was plenty of parking when we arrived. We were seated promptly.
I love the decorations. They put a lot of old Hong Kong elements in this restaurant. Also they use a special folding table and Orange plastic bowl, chopsticks, and plates, which reminded me of 大排擋. We ordered Hong Kong style sweet and sour pork, pan fried udon with beef in black pepper sauce, and 7up with salted lime. The food tasted very authentic! Reminds me of home. We ordered ovaltine french toast as dessert. It is something new to me that I have never had, and it turns out tasty!
Services was good, and servers are friendly. Will be back again.

If you’re craving that real-deal Hong Kong café experience, Alice Kitchen in Temple City absolutely nails the vibe. From the interior design to the menu, it really feels like you’re dining in HK.
Just a heads up – weekends get packed. You’ll need to register at the kiosk, and my wait time was around 50 minutes. But once seated, the food came out super fast, and the flavors hit home.
Must-try:
Spare Ribs with Honey Garlic Sauce – This was the star of the meal. The sweet honey and garlic combo is unexpectedly perfect. I haven’t had anything quite like it elsewhere.
On the flip side, the #110 Eggplant with Diced Chicken and Salted Fish was a bit too greasy for my taste, and the chicken was scarce.
Also worth noting: the restaurant gets pretty loud and busy, so it’s not ideal for long chats, but perfect for a quick, flavorful meal.
