Wanted to love this place the second go around, since the first was delicious. We had family in from out of town and thought bringing them to The Owl for lunch would be a fun treat. The Christmas decorations were adorable and the place felt charming and cozy! 10/10 for atmosphere. We overheard the other table try to order about 4 different items and they were out. Understandable during the holiday week. We decided on a few options that they did have in stock. I ordered the Alfredo pasta with smoked chicken and side of coleslaw , my husband opted for the Elote brisket sandwich with side of slaw, my mother in law went with the Turkey and bacon sandwich. My brother in law went with the Philly brisket sandwich which sounded huge and delicious. Shortly after ordering the bartender came over and let me know they were out of Alfredo… no big deal! I swapped out the marinara sauce for more of a parmigiana type dish. All of the food was delivered shortly after. My mother in law got a few bites in and I noticed she was lifting up her bread and she said there was no turkey on her Sandwich. My husband gave me a chunk of his brisket from his sandwich and it was ice cold. I contemplated if I should say something but decided the lack of turkey warranted it. The bartender went back to the kitchen and the kitchen staff informed they were out of turkey. I was honestly bewildered at the fact they didn’t notify her when that was discovered and just thought to serve a $17 bacon sandwich. They did offer to remake my husbands and he didn’t want to wait and sucked it up and ate his cold. My brother in law didn’t get the au jus sauce with his sandwich but didn’t want to bother them again. His sandwich was warmish and just okay. My pasta was good and served hot. My only complaint from me was I didn’t yet the coleslaw I paid for. We all agreed we loved the environment and the bartender was sweet. I would stop back for drink if we were around but def left today with food regrets for our guests and hubby. They did take the cold brisket off.. but didn’t comp anything for the turkey less turkey sandwich, which was disappointing.

I want to gatekeep this place but have to share because it was just so good. Located in a secluded part of Lake Geneva, this historic restaurant boasts amazing food, friendly service and a cozy atmosphere. The menu varies daily, you can get updates on social media (IG). Friday fish fry pictured.

Great local tavern with amazing food, friendly service, and reasonable prices. The pork wings are addicting, and Italian Beef special was on point. Kim & Marese were great behind the bar and we had a great time.

Local flair and one of those places that seems to remain true to it’s local neighborhood spirit. You won’t find this place unless someone tells you about it. Most locals in and around the area frequent this place.
We are blessed we live close by. Smoked meats , brisket, wings, and deep friend goodness is typical fare. Also have a taco Tuesday, shrimp is my go to and Friday fish fry.
The bar is always on and every drink is good!

My hubby and I visited lake geneva this past weekend. We stopped here for some drinks and dinner Saturday night! It was definitely the best stop we made. The exact vibe we were going for. Amy the bartender was wonderful, very friendly and attentive. We met kimmie too and my husband was able to share his love for biking with her, even got some tips on a good pair of biking shoes!! The food was homemade and delicious. We decided to get appetizers for dinner. We shared the brisket egg rolls, crab rangoon egg rolls and the wisconsin sampler. The portions were perfect, the food was freshly made, not frozen and soooooo good. I enjoyed all 3 but I LOVED the crab egg rolls, it hit every craving I had. My husband loved the brisket egg rolls and we both thought the sampler was good. I seriously could have eaten 5 of those crab egg rolls though. Next trip this place will be our 1st stop. Great, friendly neighborhood bar with amazing food

Friends introduced us to The Owl. I was skeptical. How good can tavern food be, I thought. Well, it’s pretty good! There’s an actual chef coming up with fantastic dishes on a regular basis. The look and feel of this place is very tavern, which adds to the experience. There’s no table service so you have to go to the bar to place orders, but usually not an issue. This place is a hidden gem!

I was sitting at the bar with my family and the bartender started banging her hands together and telling me to stop talking and made a scene. Horrible service and miserable bartender. Note she stated she could have went home if we didn’t walk in so she was clearly waiting for an excuse to go home. Plain mean service
