The other item to get here is the fried pickles. I haven’t had too many fried pickles, but these stand out as being some of my favorite ones. The pickles are thick cut and still have a fresh taste as they are not too fried. And the sauce they give is akin to an aioli or remoulade – flavorful, creamy, and rich.
Service is great – we had an excellent server who was friendly and attentive.
Atmosphere is decent – nothing to comment out.
Parking is available in the back (a few dedicated parking spots for the restaurant).
In any case, I was seated very fast, got my drink and within minutes of ordering my salad, I had it with me. That was impressive. Also just about the right size, not big enough that I know half of it will go waste, not small enough that I will be left hungry. Pro tip: you can (and should in my opinion) add one of their amazing smoked sides. I ordered some brisket and it did not disappoint. The salad was fresh, the ranch dressing made in house and the brisket almost melted in my mouth.
Ended up paying around 22 bucks with tip, not expensive as said. Pretty good!
Flavor-wise, it’s steady and familiar. Salt and smoke show up on time, shake hands, and leave early. No dramatic pepper punch, no lingering beefy echo. It eats clean, chews long, and asks nothing of you except patience.
I liked my Collared Greens, although I don’t think I’ve met one i didn’t like. With the Mac Cheese, I think they relied too heavily on the cheese to do the flavoring. I didn’t see a spec of pepper on the noodles, although the noodles were Cavatappi, which my wife appreciated as it gives a more elevated vibe, excellent in holding the cheese sauce due to its spiral, tubular shape.
All in all, i believe you can find better BBQ, especially in The South, they’re a dime-a-dozen.
The brisket was moist, flavorful, and perfectly smoked. The ribs were tender with tons of flavor, and the sausage really surprised me—great taste with that satisfying snap. As for the sides: the beans were solid, the mac and cheese was just okay, but the potato salad and corn pudding were both really good.
Service was top notch—friendly and attentive without being overbearing. Overall, this is great BBQ done right. Definitely worth a stop, and I’ll be coming back for more.
Ellie, who took care of us, was so warm and friendly – I wish every server could be as genuine as her.
As for the food, two of us had chicken wings, and the other had the Triple B burger, which comes with an Angus beef patty, smoked beef brisket, bacon, lettuce, and cheddar. I chose French fries as a side, and the others went with mac and cheese. For an appetizer, we ordered nachos.
We finished everything, and both the food and the service were excellent. I highly recommend it – we felt right at home!
Our server, Amy, was exceptional from start to finish! Friendly, personable, and patient, she guided us through the menu and made sure we got the best of what they offer. With her recommendations, we ordered:
• 16 oz Blue Moon
• 6 Wings
• Double Cheeseburger
• 1/2 lb Burnt Ends Plate
• French Fries
• Potato Salad w/ Bacon
• Banana Pudding
Everything was seasoned to perfection and packed with flavor! The mac and cheese and the potato salad with bacon were true standouts—some of the best I’ve ever had. Portions were generous without being overwhelming, leaving us stuffed yet somehow still making room for the banana pudding Amy suggested. It was creamy, decadent, and the perfect way to end the meal.
I’d highly recommend Smokejack BBQ to anyone in the area, and we’ll definitely be back. If we end up moving down here, I have a feeling this spot will be a regular go-to!
Next time, there are a few more items on my list to try: Cherry Smoked Old Fashioned, Collard Greens, Brisket, Smoked Pork Sausage, Smoked Boneless Chicken Thighs, Loaded Nachos with Brisket, Brunswick Stew, and more. Can’t wait!
