First time to eat here and it was really good. The gumbo was very good. The fried fish was good as well. Service was great, seated quickly and our waitress was very very nice. Very attentive. Prices were standard for the area. I wll be going back to try more, like the meat pies, boudin balls and etouffee. I like that the manager came out and asked us if we enjoyed the food.

We have passed by this place time and time again, and every time I see it I mention to my wife I want to stop there someday. Well today after church we were having a hard time figuring out where to eat. If you have not eaten at River Camp Eats I highly recommend it. I had the fried catfish and I will say it was good. The hush puppies were amazing. My wife had the chicken tender meal and the batter they use on that chicken was awesome and the tenders were juicy not dried out. The kids enjoyed their 1/4lb cheeseburger with fries…they said 10/10 Dad! It can be pricey especially for a family, but I will say it was worth it, and I recommend it!

Prices were higher than expected.
Food was decent but not at the price point offered. Meat pies are okay. Gumbo didn’t have much sausage in it at all. The fried fish is crisp but it isn’t seasoned much… if you want fried fish… there are better places just down the road (New Pier for example). The blacked chicken was good but if you’re sensitive to salt…I’d avoid it. The mashed potatoes are made from real taters with the skins on BUT if you get it with gravy…it comes swimming in the gravy…so much so, you almost feel like you’re eating soup.
While we were seated an 8 top came in and they moved some tables together to accommodate that but my goodness it blocked one side of our table in. There was less than 12inches between the back of their chairs and our table. The four top table behind us couldn’t even be used because the path to it was inaccessible.
They definitely need to think about the logistics when combing tables to ensure the tables seated around have room to get up and leave. When we left, we literally had to turn our table sideways in order to leave due to the group table being so close.

Really good food here! Everything tastes fresh! The fried pickles were a little smaller than I expected but still tasted great with the sauce. Also really enjoyed the gumbo. Wasn’t as thick as I would’ve liked but still had a lot of flavor in it. Definitely recommend getting the side of potato salad to go with it. Service was excellent as well. Definitely worth coming back!

Nice location, clean and inviting atmosphere. Let’s start with the complimentary drink. The hurricane is definitely my favorite. We had fried pickles for an appetizer alittle on the thin side but I aint complaining because we tore them up. I ordered a fried catfish and shrimp. Nothing really special it was decent but my fiancé ordered the Cajun Envie. Blacken catfish and shrimp with a crawfish sauce on a bed of orzo pasta with green beans and fried okra. Omg. So so goooooood.We spent about $55-65 with tip. Will definitely revist!! Oh let me nitpick alittle…lol… The place is small. Who cares I was phat and full when we left.

Great place to stop for a variety of country cooking. Freshly made food. Country music playing and the spacious seating made a pleasant dining atmosphere to complement the meal. Victoria, our waitress, was nice, friendly, and very attentive. I’ll be back for the lunch specials during the week!
