Everything around the steak was good, the service, drinks, salads, and sides. Unfortunately, the steak, which should have been the star, fell off the stage.
I ordered the $115 Snake River Farms Wagyu NY Strip, medium, and it was honestly one of the worst steaks I’ve ever been served. I’m not exaggerating when I say that if this had been served to me at Outback, I would have sent it back, and this is from a restaurant charging $115 for a single steak.
The cut was surprisingly thin and uneven, with one side thinner than the other, which caused it to cook unevenly. The thinner side didn’t even fully touch the plate. I ordered it medium, but it came out closer to rare to medium-rare, cold , no juice, and none of the marbling or fat rendered out properly so it actually felt very tuff.
The first few (and only) bites were just chewing through thick, unrendered, gross fat on a steak that was undercooked and cold. I cut into a different areas hoping it would be better, but it was the same thing, cold, fatty, and completely unenjoyable.
There is no scenario where I would accept this steak at a budget steakhouse, let alone pay $115 for it. At this price point, the quality of the cut, preparation, and execution should be far better.
I don’t know whether Eddie V’s receives their Snake River Farms steaks pre-cut or trims them in house, but either way, the uneven cut and poor execution are ultimately the restaurant’s responsibility.
I’m glad I tried Eddie V’s, becasue If anything, the experience made me appreciate just how good the steak options near where I live truly are, and also away from all the traffic and construction mess around the Eddy Vs area which is a plus.
It’s a shame, because the restaurant itself is beautiful and the staff was friendly, I could easily see myself enjoying the restaurant. Unfortunately, the steak was absolutely pitiful, and for that reason I won’t be returning.
, the main food was disappointing.
Loved the crab cake and the crab fried rice but our entrees were underwhelming.
This was my godsister’s birthday dinner, and unfortunately she couldn’t even enjoy her meal. I’m highly disappointed in the food, service, and overall quality we received. The manager claimed he would “make things right,” yet the food still came out undercooked.
For an establishment that advertises itself as upscale, I expected top-tier quality—especially for the prices. Instead, I was served a tough steak. My godsister ordered lamb chops, but received an entirely different cut: a rack of lamb with mixed temperatures—part raw, part well-done—on the same plate. Not only was this unsafe, but completely unacceptable.
The manager did take the dish back, but by that time we were already full off bread, appetizers, and sides because her main course wasn’t edible. He suggested she take the corrected dish to go, and when she got home it was somehow even more undercooked than before.
This was her birthday dinner, and we paid premium prices only to receive raw food and poor service. UNACCEPTABLE. I genuinely expected much better from an establishment that calls itself “upscale.” My godsister called the restaurant and they have yet to rectify or try to compensate for this unpleasant experience.
The food—wow! Every dish was prepared to perfection. Terry really enjoyed his seafood dish and some of my filet mignon. Every thing was fresh and bursting with flavor. The filet mignon was cooked exactly to my liking and it absolutely melted in my mouth. And let’s not forget the sides, each one was a perfect we shared creamy mashed potatoes and asparagus was a complement to the main course.
The cocktail selection was also top-notch, and the wine list offered great pairings for each dish. I loved the attention to detail in everything, from the ambiance to the service to the food.
Terry said his Happy ending dessert surprise was also delicious !
If you’re looking for an upscale dining experience with impeccable service and food that delights every bite, I highly recommend Eddie V’s. Can’t wait to come back for another unforgettable evening!
