I gotta be honest, I left a 5 star review 2 years ago I had to delete.
This location has messed up my food and corrected in previously no need to go further with it. However tonight? Completely just disappointing.
I ordered close to closing time, more than 30 minutes before night end due to my shift running late, my fault for thinking I would still get good service?

Well I got 2 plain hot dogs, no maxwells and what looks like beef pulled from the grease trap. Mind you all of this cost me over 40 dollars.
Can I please get some help with this? By the time I would have even made it back it would have been closed. The lady who took my order was very polite and helpful is the only positive I can say.

My wife and I are Chicagoland natives, and we frequently brag about the absolute best local tradition of a Portillos Italian Beef sandwich. This evening, we came in for a pseudo date night, after going out shopping, and as operations folks ourselves, we both would be embarrassed to call this establishment one of our own.
The restaurant was disgusting. Trash bins overfilled. Ketchup and mustard all over the condiment station. Drink station overflowing with ice. Tables were sticky and trash all over the floor. Watched multiple team members walk past full bins, and leaving the pictured broom to seek companionship for the entirety of our stay.
The staff was also rude. Calling out orders was rushed, no enthusiasm, and difficult to hear. Our order was taken by a team member who seemed more interested in taking a nap, than serving her customers. Utterly disgraceful.
And at last, our food was dry, over salted fries, and overall unsatisfying.
I write this in hopes that this will reach someone who truly cares, and can return this Chicagoland tradition to greatness, as we miss this experience. I hope to hear from someone soon who may take this seriously before this restaurant closes like so many others.

Hot dogs were great but kids burgers were really dry. Grilled chicken in my wife’s salad was spicy not sure why, the whole meal felt tired. It was $70 for our family, and I got $30 worth of value, not coming back.

Ordered our food and my wife and I waited almost 30 minutes and it was 1 sandwich and some onion rings. I approached the counter and asked about my order they said they was waiting on my Onion rings I responded for a half hour? They said sorry we’re busy. Bread was soggy by the time we sat down to eat the sandwich. Definitely won’t be back.

Beef and cheddar croissant shows cheddar sauce in the picture but they made mine with a tiny dab of shredded cheese. Couldn’t even tell there was cheese on it. Probably would have been pretty tasty if they made it correctly. I shouldn’t have to pay extra for cheese sauce when it should come on the sandwich

I wasn’t aware this location existed. When I seen it I had to stop and try it out. Just like the other locations in Indy it’s fantastic. The food was a quick serve. Everything tasted fresh. Everything is served hot. This is a nice clean restaurant. I love Portillo’s and will always stop by one for lunch or dinner if I’m near one.

Went here the other day, wasnt impressed. Almost $20 for a steak and sausage sandwich and small fry, no drink. The hot peppers were good but the sausage had the strangest seasonings. Almost like it was Mideastern or mediterranean or something. Almost reminded me of Indian food – which i love but dont want those flavors in a sausage. The meat for the sandwich had zero flavor and just tasted like boiled meat. I chose liquid cheese and extra gravy. By the time i sat down there was no cheese to be found, i think it all oozed out or melted into oblivion or something. Messiest sandwich ive ever had! Glad i didnt get it dunked in gravy. I went through a whole tree’s worth of napkins. Fries were not memorable and frankly neither was the sandwich. The kids working here were friendly enough but theres really no service, they take your order, you pick it up and take it to your table. Place seemed clean. I wont be back unless a friend bends my arm. For $20 i can get an entire pizza.
