The sesame chicken is the best around. Always crunchy, very well seasoned, and tender. Entres come with a fresh salad bar. My littles LOVED the shrimp stir fry. They also have DELICIOUS donuts and a small market! Our new weekly go too. The owners are very friendly and provide great rapport!

Hubby wanted Asian the night before his procedure at the hospital. Our normal Asian food place was closed so we tried here. We didn’t know what to order so the gentlemen suggested Sesame Chicken. Wow! It was delish, a lot of food, and so so good. Please is bright, clean, good music, and a salad bar with every meal. The days later after the procedure when I asked hubby where he wanted to eat for his first meal….Sesame Chicken from Suns! Oh and the donuts are good too!

Thai and Cambodian cuisine. My husband had the Pad Thai and I had Chicken Lemongrass. Both were delicious. There is also a buffet bar with familiar American staples for those who prefer fried chicken, etc.

I went back today for Daylight Donuts. The restaurant owners had the local Daylight franchise for many years, and cooked the best donuts in town. I used to take my children by the previous donut location for a special treat when theywere young. This week they added the donut franchise to the restaurant, so I visited with my (now) adult children. The donuts were just as delicious as we remembered. We will definitely be back.

Nice looking, clean and new building.
Easy parking.
Absolutely the best owners and great staff. Terrific food. Best Cambodian in the state.
Will keep coming back, even after the upcoming name change.

Stopped in for lunch this week. The new Sun’s Special (not yet on the menu) is excellent! It included Sesame Chicken, Beef and Broccoli, and Steamed Rice. Delicious.

UPDATE (the following day):

THE BEST pad thai I’ve ever had in my life. I fell in love with this place on my 2nd visit. You’ve GOT to try this place

I visited on a Sunday at approximately 11:30 am. I entered into a very clean, open concept type building with plenty of seating and a warm inviting atmosphere. I loved the soft 80’s music that was playing in the background too.

A man greeted me quickly and offered a menu and also mentioned their buffet, inviting me to visit the buffet selections prior to making my decision.

After viewing the food selection at the buffet & adjoining salad bar, I did elect to do that for my meal.

The salad and vegetables were put together well and appeared fresh and colorful. The buffet was simple with choices such as baked and fried chicken, pork chops in gravy, BBQ ribs, macaroni & cheese, mashed potatoes, yams, collard greens & corn bread or rolls. I tried a little bit of every thing and it was all delicious, perfectly cooked in my opinion.

The gentleman who served me was the nicest guy. He embodies the entire idea of customer service. He’s got it down and gets an A+ on that for sure. This gentleman is EXACTLY the type of community member and customer service representative you I want to support. I believe anyone should feel the same after visiting this restaraunt.

Before I left, he mentioned that I need to return to try the “dragon noodle” and that he offers “THE BEST pad Thai, ever. THE BEST.”

I assured him I will be back to try the menu for dinner service. And I will. I’m very much looking forward to it.

Awesome guy, delicious food.. remarkable kindness and service. Two thumbs up

The food is always so high quality and yummy! Every meal we’ve had here taste like real cooking, super fresh and satisfying. The portions are very generous, we always leave full! We love the salad bar too. Service is so wonderful and everything is well managed. My husband and I have been here multiple times already! We’ll keep coming back! Such a great spot!

This restaurant is hands-down one of the most amazing places in Alex City to eat. The food is fantastic, the owners are incredible people, and this place deserves much, MUCH more attention. If you’re thinking you want good Southeast Asian food or even think you might want that or good baked goods, PLEASE support this business!!!

Best Thai food we’ve found east of Denver. The sticky fried rice is killer. I could just order that and be happy. The pad Thai was excellent. Can’t wait to try more dishes. I bet the pho is great!

Sun’s Diner isn’t the biggest buffet in town, but what it lacks in square footage, it makes up for in straight-up deliciousness.
Think “cozy buffet” — enough choices to make you happy, without so many that you need a flowchart to navigate your plate.

The homemade meatloaf? A clear front-runner. Comfort food done right.
The chicken wings? Perfectly cooked, with a tangy-but-sweet sauce that hits every corner of your taste buds.
You’ll also find assorted southern-style greens and veggies that feel like a Sunday supper spread,
plus chicken fingers and fries for the kids (or, let’s be honest, the grown-ups who “accidentally” grab some).

The salad bar is no afterthought, either — the veggies are so fresh they could double as a farmer’s market display.
And don’t breeze past the dessert bar; there are some hidden gems waiting there.
But the real crown jewel? The fresh, homemade doughnuts.
Forgetting them would be a life choice you’ll regret — like ignoring your GPS and ending up in another state.

And if buffets aren’t your scene,
Sun’s has a full Asian menu too — from beef & broccoli to pad Thai and practically everything in between.
Basically, you can’t go wrong here… unless you skip the doughnuts.
Don’t. Forget. The. Doughnuts.

I arrived for a very early lunch. I recorded a wonderful meal that included salad bar & wonderfully short conversations as they brought refills & made sure I had everything I needed.
