We had the Grilled Cheese Benedict, Biscuits & Gravy and two coffees. The benedict was superb. Perfectly poached eggs on a grilled cheese sandwich covered with delicious hollandaise sauce. The biscuits and gravy were good, but not great. The biscuits were awesome, but bacon gravy was too loose for my liking though.
At the end we decided to add a cinnamon roll. All I can say is . It was so damn delicious. Get one or ten!
I ended up going with the kitchen sink sizzling platter with a side of bacon gravy. And of course the cinnamon roll.
The roll came first and was warm. It wasnt a traditional raised dough but more a Danish pastry style dough with a little eggy flavor. It had a caramelized sugar on the bottom that was crunchy and delicious. It wasnt like an easy gooey cinnamon roll but more an airy moist roll.
The platter was served hot and was well balanced. The gravy seemed luke warm though.
Coffee was a little bitter but I also didnt add my usual amount of sugar.
The place was busy and I had a seat at the counter. I was given a glass of water right away. Servers were friendly.
Hats off to the cooks
We will be back
Music selection was great. I don’t know if the music is the same daily but it was 70s and 80s rnb this day. Love love love it!
In town.
I arrived on a Wednesday around 12:30 PM. Few parking spots available. No line. I walked in and was seated right away at the counter, since I was solo. It was definitely busy and lively inside.
I ordered a coffee to start. It was just normal regular black coffee with a side of cream/milk. This coffee was $5 and not sure why but that’s a little steep for a cup of regular coffee.
I ordered the Avocado Toast and the Bee Pollen to eat. The portions are very large, so be mindful what you order if you will not be able to consume or enjoy it all.
The Avocado Toast was delicious. I never had chorizo on it before but I did like it – just not a huge fan of it. I did remove, while ordering, the pickled onions that it comes with. It was quite messy so I found that eating with a fork and knife was best. Overall, it tasted wonderful and I would get it again. Fresh tasting.
The Bee Pollen was great. Again, another large portion. It wasn’t entirely too sweet and was excellent to enjoy the many flavors it contained. Also fresh tasting.
Hostess was friendly. Server was friendly. Service was quick. Good atmosphere and a lot of conversations happening inside but not unbearable. Open space.
I recommend trying this place. The menu is vast and there is something on there everyone would enjoy.
The signage on the street looks rustic and iconic at the same time while the front desk staff are very professionally friendly. The interior atmosphere is just as rustic and quaint.
The wait staff was just as professionally friendly and patient with looking over the menu selection, prompt with drinks and coffee (by this time was just past 12pm noon). As we looked at the items, me and my party were commenting on the unique items on the menu. We have to start some where.
We made our choices and there was: The Biscuit and Sausage Bowl, the Bacon Melt, Chicken n Waffles and my item; The Citris Poppyseed Pancake and we ordered a side of 2 scrambled eggs & Bacon.
Everyone commented on how delicious and plentiful their meals were. But mine, was a combo of delicious and unique. I never would have thought to have peeled and sliced oranges (regular and blood) on the Pancake which was also topped in the center of the oranges on the Pancake, poppyseed butter. The combo was sweet and tart with a little drizzle of Syrup. So delicious.
I typically only designate the coveted 5th Star for establishments who support the Military and Veterans. If this were true for Bacon and Butter, I wish. So I can only say the experience at Bacon and Butter deserves that 5th Star by word of mouth. As a Veteran who reviews all types of establishments, there are a few that do support us with a discount. All in all, it was a great 1st experience and look all look forward to returning to try other menu items even though our drive is over 30 minutes by freeway. Thank you Bacon and Butter foe being around for us to have.
We got a bacon chocolate chip cookie to go, but it was my least favorite. It’s a dry and hard cookie, and I prefer soft and gooey, so just be aware if you’re considering the cookie!
