This visit was extra special because I celebrated my birthday here with Dr. Keith and Dr. KEL’LI, Chancellor of Good Life Christian University and
author of He Still Can Be Faithful. The staff even sang Happy Birthday to me, which truly made the day memorable. We also had the opportunity to share our books during the visit.
Thank you, Outback, for such a wonderful birthday experience. I’ll definitely be back!

Today came in for a quick lunch as was stopping home to see my parents. I was really pleasantly surprised. Like really pleasantly surprised. The bread as always always good (you could always count on the bread). The gold coast shrimp was fantastic! Sweet and juicy shrimp with a perfectly crunchy coconut encrusted shell. The mango sweet cocktail sauce was awesome (even saved it for my steak). Ordered the ribeye and loaded sweet potatoes..the ribeye was tender, perfectly medium rare, well seasoned, a little grisly but not too bad. The steak paired nicely with baked sweet potato topped with butter and brown sugar (who knew that would be a good combo???).
Anyways, other than being short staffed (btw our server was awesome but she was so busy bc there didn’t seem like enough servers at lunch), it was a really great experience!!! Would totally come back again!!!!!!
We had reservations at a different place but those got unexpectedly canceled. Hungry, we looked around what was nearby, saw an Outback, and even better saw it had no wait time for our party of 7.
I went in with bottom barrel expectations and was pleasantly surprised the entire time. We were quickly seated at our table, and the server was quick to explain the menu, specials, and get our drink orders in. I got a smokey old fashioned, my wife the “Puggle Splash”. Both were quite good – the Puggle Splash even came with a toy Platypus – how cool is that? In addition our daughter got a toy duck with the little Outback logo and some crayons and coloring paper.
The brown bread, which is included, was exceptional. I’ve been to restaurants that are 2x more expensive than Outback that had bread that wasn’t anywhere near as good as this stuff. Must have.
The food came out in good time, and again knocked my expectations out of the park. Normally if we order food from a chain like Applebees, it looks nothing like the picture, and is oversalted/seasoned. Not so with Outback. The Steak was cooked exactly medium as requested, was juicy, and lightly seasoned as were the veggies and baked sweet potato. Was this steak better than a high-end steakhouse steak? No, but for under $30 its absolutely a fantastic cut of red meat.
Everyone in our party enjoyed the food (my wife got the salmon) even our daughter liked her pasta. 5 stars from her. Our server would check on us, refill our waters as needed. Al in all we had an exceptional time.
If you’re in the Springfield area and looking for a good quality, reasonably priced family restaurant to bring the whole family, kids included too, I can’t recommend Outback enough. Well done.
Well run restaurant, delicious food & drinks, please keep up the amazing place. Thank you all.
We both ordered the blooming burger as our entree and both were cooked medium to medium rare – although one was requested well done and one medium well. They were both red. We sat at the bar waiting for refills on our drinks, and tried to get the two bartenders attention multiple times. We waited 15+ minutes and decided to pack our food and go home. We continued waiting and finally we were able to request boxes. We were Asked if we wanted Dessert, and I reminded them that it was included with our meal, and we’d take it go as well. I expressed our dissatisfaction of being unattended to and disregarded- and we
received no apologies. We were Offered a drink on the house and we declined as we wanted to end this disaster. I asked if we could please just get our dessert. The bartender left and began cleaning the bar and then left completely.
We were able to get the attention of the second bartender and again asked for our dessert. Then she disappeared to the kitchen to retrieve it- but never came back. We simply got up and left without it. We were absolutely disappointed in this experience and do not look forward to returning. In addition, in the time we sat there, the couple next to us had problems as well because they were charged for a double drink- when clearly I heard them order a “vodka tonic”. Then they were told they took one dollar off to make up for it. The woman even next to them sent her food back because of some reason I could not hear. The gentleman next to us told the female bartender that the male bartender needs help as they left and were very dissatisfied. I’ve been to this location so many times as well as the prior one a few units down. Each time it gets worse and worse. And to top it off, $6+ for a bottle of miller lite at Outback is ridiculous. I don’t even pay for that when I order a beer with an ocean view. Let alone, being frustrated with the service of this establishment. What a waste of time and money.
