I have been going to Golden House since they opened over 26 years ago. The food has always been amazing. The owners are the most wonderful people I know. I have since moved out of town and still come to visit whenever possible. If you love and appreciate classic Chinese food, this is the place for you.

The food has a general taste of over used oil in the rice and anything fried. The rice is very bland in flavor and that oily flavor taste is subtle but there where it’s over powering from a lack of flavor. The general Gao chicken on one end taste good but there is sometimes a gamy flavor or a chicken going bad flavor, the chicken seems a bit undercooked, should definitely frie longer and work on that chicken going bad flavor.The combination plates are very plain and it’s overall pricey for something not so fantastic.

This place is really unprofessional from workers to the owner. I placed an order on Christmas at 430pm. I waited an hour before I called them to see where my order was. I was then told that they were busy and only had one driver. I asked them how longer the girl said she couldn’t tell me that. I waited another hour and called again to speak to the owner this is now 2 hours later. I can hear him telling her to tell me if I don’t like it to go pick it up. He gets on the phone to tell me that he doesn’t know where his driver is at and he dont know what to tell me. Never again if I can give them a 0 a 0 is what the rating would be. Not a people person at all. Don’t know how he is even a owner.

This is the greatest Chinese food you will ever have. We moved away but when we come back to Lawrence I get two things, a fade and this Chinese food. Be aware if you eat this, you will dream of it when you move. It’s that loud. It’s that hot fire. It’s the greatest thing you will ever eat.

Food was absolutely disgusting. I walked in and order, then I sat down maybe 5 minutes and there was a brown bag waiting across from me on counter, woman says All set…. I should have known… served me stale Rangoons, dried rice. I have never had chicken fingers this terrible. They were dry and hard. Even when I crunched the breading off the chicken inside was dry. I’m calling my credit card company to reverse this payment. Unreal that they looked at the food and actually sold it. Disgusting people and play to serve the public this type of trash

Joe has chicken wings the size of my hand!!!!!! Lobster sauce for days and the Hong Kong wonton soup is to die for!! The drinks are strong and the service is fast!

Since day one, the Golden House has served up both quality food and excellent service. A true representation of how a successful family small businesses should be run. I remember before they expanded. Their tables continued to be seated with happy customers, while in the background the owner’s/management churned through take out orders, more by the minute.
My friends and I, we would drive here from an hour away on multiple occasions because the food and service were simply left us always feeling full and satisfied every single time. They continue to run an efficient service, even when the current times we are in have made this industry much more challenging.
Find me a restaurant with similar accolades and a long standing reputation like this one. I’ll gladly take a seat and share the same praise. This is by far the best Chinese take out on my list. Best crab rangoon I’ve ever tasted in my life. I literally flew from Atl to Mass to bring my wife to eat here. I miss this place with a broken heart. Send me some crab rangoons please!!!
