What an enjoyable experience! I took my grandkids and one of their friends to celebrate a birthday. When we arrived, the server (very pleasant lady!) asked if this was our first time there, and I said yes, and pointed to the birthday boy and said we’re celebrating his birthday and the kids love sushi and bubble tea. She asked how old he was and he told her “17”, then she told us how the buffet works and everyone went off to grab food. Everyone was surprised at the variety of dishes, and wow, the teenage boys went at it. There were even a few Chinese style items like General Tso’s chicken and crab Rangoon. Everything was very pretty (see photo). There were desserts like cheesecake, jello, and fresh fruits. There was a clear jello that we weren’t sure but my granddaughter thought it might be lychee? I don’t eat sushi so I ordered chicken udon off the menu and it was good. When everyone was stuffed to the gills, suddenly the server came out with what I think was a ball of fried ice cream with a candle in it, and the music started to play “Happy Birthday” and our young man was so embarrassed (but happy). That was so very kind and sweet of them to do that for us (and no charge)! When all was said and done, the bill was surprisingly reasonable for 5 people. Bubble teas were included, but sodas were a bit extra. And if you pay cash instead of credit, there is a discount. Afterwards, I asked for a rating from the family and all said they would definitely come back. We had a great time!

Revamped buffet. Looks nice and clean, hotpot ingredients now just out for you to pick up. Sushi is now just out to pick too. There’s lobster, crab and clams too. Hotpot is still a metal appliance thing with a like one of those jelly puck flame candles. It’s brought out quick. There’s ramen too. The spicy ramen comes with the same braised beef but tastes more flavorful. The secret spicy one isn’t that spicy, has a kick but you won’t die.

They now have premade bubble teas in the fridge. Desserts look nice. The orange jello looking thing next to the creme brulee is surprisingly good. Not sure what it is but it’s creamier than the flan.

I still really like the pork belly.

Alright Buffett. Food section is pretty small compared to standard generic Chinese buffets, but hotpot and sushi come with the price. Thought the braised pork belly was really good, but my friend thought it was too rich.

Hotpot is a metal pot with a flame underneath they bring to the table. Was alright, had the Chongqing base. Friend thought it was tasteless. I thought it was nice, tasted pretty clean. There’s a condiment bar around the side you can always use to spice things up.

Friend really enjoyed the sushi though. Comes out pretty quick. There’s also some .. sushi hors d’oeuvures type dishes set out on a table, like fish roe, seaweed salad, tamago slice, imitation crab slice, etc.

Surprised they served alcohol, not many restaurants I go to have a liquor license. Didn’t get any drinks, but the fruit type cocktails looked interesting.

Server was attentive and quick to order the sushi and hotpot.

Bathroom had 2 stalls and a urinal. Pretty clean.

Nice place. I was seated right away. Hostess gave helpful suggestions and support with how the hot pot works. Sushi selection was good. Definitely a higher class of all you can eat place than others.
Jello was a little stiff, but packed with flavor.
Yogurt was tasty.

Nice atmosphere, friendly staff. Not enough choices for the price. The hotpot has limited options and the broth choices are also limited. Sushi was very good, food at the bar was tasty as well. The hotpot is lacking and dangerous. It comes in a steel container without any flame control. Seems to be sterno powered and can’t be put out unless they use some type of candle snuffer. If I could skip on the hotpot here I would come back, however since it’s an all or nothing deal, I don’t think I’ll be returning.

I was lucky enough to go here on opening night and I just went again for a second time on Sat. 11/11/23. Raku is an AYCE Asian Buffet that offers lots of seafood, sushi, sashimi, a little bit of typical American food (Pizza, chicken fingers & fries) and desserts and fruit. They also have a liquor license so they offer drinks. You order sushi pieces and rolls from a menu and the sushi is made per order and not ahead of time where it can sit around and dry out. I ordered four different rolls and they were all fantastic. Both times we were there they had crazy amounts of snowcrab legs and tons of different shrimp and prawns. They also had lobster claws. When we were there on Saturday afternoon 11/11/23 they had signs saying that they were adding Korean style Hot Pot to the menu which we also love. I would say that this place is similar to UMI in Deptford but the sushi pieces and rolls there are pre-made so they can sit around and dry out whereas they’re fresh at Raku. Anyway, I’m a huge fan of Raku and have raved about the place to my friends. I love the place and can’t wait to go back.

This place was amazing. Normally, I am a little skeptical about all you can eat buffets but this one right here at the bar. they have everything from all you can eat crab legs to hot pot, chicken, pork, ribs, seafood, desserts, and more and at the end of your visit they give you a cup of ice cream of your choice. This place even has outdoor seating. Me and my family would definitely be visiting this place again.

AYCE Sushi joints can be very…challenging because you don’t know if it will be buffet style or MTO. Raku, is the latter. But they are also feature a buffet with Japanese-focused dishes and also AYCE hot pot (at a premium).
This restaurant is a very well done in terms of its atmosphere and theming with a good Oriental styling that goes with its food offerings. The staff also do a good job with keeping the restaurant clean as well and the service is good with the team generally able to keep up with your sushi orders and drinks.
The food though, the base is a Japanese buffet with a variety of seafood (offered all the time, including crab legs) as well as other dishes with the pork belly being the highlight for me. I guess because it was very tasty and just the right amount of crispiness.
The hot pot is an added charge but they offer the typical selection of Chinese style hot pot (or is it shabu shabu).
The other portion is AYCE sushi. This is made to order and features a nice variety of maki, nigiri and sashimi options. My usual favorites of a Philidelphia roll and Spicy Tuna roll were both pretty good and their fancier rolls are also very fun to eat as well.
As they are a AYCE sushi and a full-time seafood buffet, they are a bit pricier than a normal buffet, so keep that in mind. But overall, if you’re looking for a place to enjoy all the sushi you want, Raku will be a good spot to visit.

So, we visited this restaurant for my boyfriend’s birthday, which happened to be this past Memorial Day. We arrived promptly as soon as they opened, but there were no clear indications of any price differences. The food was decent, with a variety of options, but the seasoning was quite bland. Unfortunately, we won’t be returning. As soon as we received our bill, they charged us for the dinner price, claiming that it was Memorial Day and everyone at our table was responsible for paying the dinner price instead of the lunch price. I find it disingenuous to be deceived in this manner. The service was good, so we did make sure to tip well, but the incident with the bill has left a sour taste in our mouths.

The service was excellent. The food was excellent as well. Sushi is part of the buffet, but you need to put an order for it, and they will make it fresh and brink it to your table. For the rest, you pick your own from the selections of seafood buffet. I’ve enjoyed the many selections of sashimi as well.
