Slow-smoked barbecue & hearty side dishes in a quirky, cypress-paneled space with a full bar.

Let’s be honest, when you think NOLA, BBQ isn’t what comes to mind.
BUT! If you are in the mood for some great BBQ and you are in New Orleans, The Joint is a fantastic find.
This place is local and feels it from the time you walk in the door.
The brisket is soft and juicy (not to dry) with the right amount of smoke and char on the crust. The Potato Salad and Mac were delicious! I could literally eat a pint of that Potato Salad.
I am going to go out on a limb and say that The Joint is the best BBQ in NOLA.

WOW!!! This is insanely great bbq spot. Some of the best bbq I’ve had in my life. The burnt ends and pulled pork in particular were out of this world. Amazing service, really great people. Love the decor. Great price for the 3 of us to be completely stuffed. The pecan pie was also easily the best pecan pie I’ve ever had. Come here if you get the chance. I loved it so much had to take a tshirt to remember and brag about it back home!

This was a great find. After spending most of our visit in the French Quarter enjoying Cajun food and seafood l, it was nice to get out of the area and try something else. The brisket was amazing and they have a local sauce company make their own recipe just for them. Everything is homemade. The coleslaw was fresh and not over whelming with vinegar or dressing. We enjoyed the meal and everyone was very since and chatted with us and our friends about their smoker. This was a highlight of my husband and his friend’s trip.

Food was fantastic and good amount of food for the price. I was super impressed with the pecan pie. Ended up buying multiple slices. The service was on point. I enjoyed the down home hole in the wall atmosphere. Would recommend

Hubby says 3, cool spot so I say 4. I had been so pumped to try the Joint. We shared a 3 meat plate. The brisket was hands down the best, a 4.5-5. The ribs were good but not my fave. They are very smoky. The underneath was delicious but the top has something on them I wasn’t crazy about. My husband was really disappointed in the pulled pork which is his favorite thing at BBQ places. Potato salad was legit, beans were ok, different. I mean they were good but not traditional so you may love them. I loved the pickles! We were divided on the sauces which are both readily available on the tables… both bottles were clean but leaked every time we used them .

This is easily the best barbecue I have ever had in New Orleans! To make things even better, the drinks were cheap, and the cocktails delicious! We were interested in exploring areas off the beaten tourist path, and our bartender/server was kind enough to write down a list of recommendations! Definitely recommend getting the potato salad, trust me! The Bywater area is great, and The Joint is a perfect example!

Aunt Fama’s peanut butter pie is divine…leave room for it. The tender brisket burnt ends were slathered in sweet and tangy bbq sauce…my favorite! The coleslaw, cornbread and mac and cheese were perfect with the brisket. Great draft beer and wine selections. I’ll try the ribs and key lime pie on my next visit. The best BBQ in New Orleans.

I drove from Gulfport Mississippi just to get some of this barbecue, just to be highly disappointed. The brisket plate comes with four small pieces of brisket when mostly fat hardly any meat. The sides don’t even get me started. But let’s go there. The mac & cheese was dry no cheese. The slaw was oh, it was not slowing. The baked beans was not baked. They was just beans. And for last the potato salad No salad just potatoes. Then we had nerve to buy pecan pie, This Was nasty also , To think I passed up the blue oaks to come here. Never again, Highly disappointed customer.

Oh and I had my first slice ever of pecan pie. Heavenly. OK I’ve been here 3x already and im probably going to go Friday before I go back home. I’ve had the pork ribs, the beef brisket sandwich, key lime pie, and the booberry dark and stormy. Oh and Mac and cheese at each meal. Fabulous.

I visited The Joint on the recommendation of a Bywater resident. The BBQ was amazing as were the sides. Must try’s are: the BBQ burnt ends, chicken sausage, Pork ribs, and the corn muffins. I loved this place so much I went 3 times over a week.
It’s also a short walk from the wharf where you can see the Downtown skyline and the bridge.
