I should have known right off the bat, that this place wasn’t going to be good as it was fairly cheap, but I also assumed that was because it was “Cash only”
I can’t wait to dig in because the drive through line was packed, the patio seating was about ⅓ filled and the atmosphere seemed to be jumpin’.
Roll up to the window, lady has my order wrong, she apologized spit off another order, not mine. Sorry I didn’t think to myself how is this possible, there aren’t any cars in front of me since I’m at the window and a buttload behind me, but I ordered in sequential order so how is this possible.
She repeated the order that was mine, I gave her my cash and then she proceeded to give me a drink that wasn’t mine.
Unfortunately, I drank from it to realize that it wasn’t mine and I asked for a new drink Even though she repeated my order to me which included the Dr pepper, she then claimed that I ordered a diet Pepsi. Nothing wrong with people who do drink diet drinks however, I’m not one who needs that, And unfortunately my irritation let that quip out and she rolled her eyes. I deserved that I roll as I shouldn’t have said that however, I was already irritated.
Food comes out in a oversized bag with just a plate, a napkin crudely wrapped over said plate and everything jumbled onto a single plate, mind you, I got two pieces of fish, french fries, nine pieces of so-called shrimp, and a 32 oz bev.
The first thing I noticed was the thick breading on the so-called shrimp. The shrimp were fried in a non-traditional manner, they must have been breaded uncoiled and dipped into the fryer lengthwise and I have never seen this done before. At first I was a little teed off because this is just another franchise doing something different however, I put that thought aside and tried it anyhow. Easily the worst I’ve ever had. Zero seasoning in the shrimp and the batter. So now I have eight shrimp that aren’t going anywhere but the trash.
So I look at the square piece of fish and I say to myself, the breading center here but I don’t see an ounce of seasoning. Take that first bite, nothing, not even a lingering fishy taste. Completely unseasoned and maybe salted.
I will say that the fish had a better taste than the shrimp did for sure.
Now on to the fries, fries were soggy as if they had been sitting for a while, lightly salted with little to no flavor outside of a potato.
When I tell you this was the most disappointing experience I have ever had with any place that produces fish and chips, I am not even close or remotely close to being facetious.
This place is hands down the worst place I have eaten at in the state of Arizona.
These types of places are only fueled by people’s curiosity, loyalty, laziness and/ or culture vultures.
If you are accustomed to eating seasoned fish, seasoned fried fish, seasoned shrimp, seasoned deep fried shrimp, seasoned fries, or anything seasoned whatsoever, do not waste your time or your cash here because this is not the place to do so.
If you have hypertension or have a consideration where you can’t have anything that tastes good, this place is perfect for you!
