I’ve never been to any of the Sammy’s places on City Island so I’m happy we started with this one.
We came here for my momxs birthday dinner and the food was huge and delicious. They greeted us as soon as we walked in. The service reminded me of me at work, joking with the customers and just making u feel so welcomed.
When I was reading up on the menu i was skeptical about the sizes for the prices but I must say it exceeded my expectations.
I ordered the Pit Master Feast for 2 (for mom and I) and it came with Ribs (we picked Baby Back), Pulled Pork, Brisket, BBQ Chicken and Smoked Sausage, it also came with 3 sides so we did the Collard Greens, Mac n Cheese and corn on the cob.
My sister had the Fried Seafood Combo. Came w/ Jumbo Shrimp, Scallop, Cod Fish, Calamari and a Baby Lobster Tail.
My niece had the Large Snow Crab Legs (2 clusters).
When I tell you I was shocked as everything came out.
Everything was delicious perfectly seasoned and more then we could finish lol.
Only downside is the pulled pork was a little dry for my liking but it was still tasty.
I will definitely be returning here to try out more stuff on the menu.

Exceptional experience at Sammy’s Smokehouse! My friend and I had outstanding customer service from start to finish, and the food was absolutely delicious. The ribs were fall-off-the-bone perfection, the salmon was cooked beautifully, and everything we tried from the rice to the nachos and crispy onion rings was full of flavor. Portions were generous, presentation was on point, and every bite was truly chef’s kiss. We left full, happy, and already talking about our next visit. Definitely going back highly recommend!

My fiancé and I came here to celebrate his birthday and we were not at all disappointed. The food was amazing, everything was bursting with freshness and flavor. The value for the money is acceptable. The service was also incredible. The atmosphere was relaxing and clean. 10/10 recommend and we will definitely be back! The ease of parking is also a huge plus and the location.

One of my cousins suggested this restaurant and let me say I’m so glad he did. Our party of 7 dined here on a rainy sunday in October, with coastal flood warnings still we made it out to city island for our family reunion meeting.
The service is top-notch even the restaurant owners wife (Sammy’s wife) came and visited our table and had a conversation, with us for a few minutes before our dinner arrived. I ordered the boneless rib sandwich with onion rings and it came with coleslaw. We also ordered two appetizers of the barbecue wings. The food is so tender and delicious. My family ordered different food combos. Everyone enjoyed their meals some had mixed views on the side dishes, the collard greens had too much vinegar. We asked for another batch and they accommodated us with no extra charge. Other than that, we enjoyed our meals and our waiter even offered us the pumpkin centerpiece.
I highly recommend this restaurant.

One of the best BBQ spots in NYC. Not only can you enjoy amazing BBQ, but you can also savor Sammy’s famous classic seafood. This time I only grabbed the BBQ and it was so delicious. We started with their complimentary bread basket. I recommend you try the garlic bread and biscuits. I ordered the 3-meat BBQ platter. I chose Baby Back Ribs, Beiscket, and Pulled Pork. The brisket was so tender and juicy that it melted in your mouth. The Ribs were equally as tender, and the pork was wonderful. We had so much food and had to take some home but I just loved it.

Everyone love their food. The atmosphere was welcoming. The owners wife was so sweet. The house salad with brisket was delicious. It was a huge serving. Two people can share it or have left overs for lunch ir dinner the next day.

Food was average at best. Brisket was dry, noodles were cooked to mush in the Mac n cheese, house bbq sauce was lacking flavor, and the smoke flavor really wasn’t in the pulled pork. The bread basket was the best food we had during our visit. Service was good and the atmosphere is cool.

This restaurant was for sure a 10 out of 10. The greeter was extremely plight and it didnt take him long to seat us. Immediately they offered handwipes before giving us the complimentary bread. The bread basket was definitely 10nout of 10. The bread basket consited of a tiasted garlic bread hero, warm slightly sweetend biscuits that pair well with barbecue and a cranberry cornbread with a hint of honey. The prices were not bad. We got the two meats and two sides that came to 35 dollars a piece. The ribs were chefs kiss, alongside of the savory pulled pork. Whomever made them baked beans really did an amazing job. I like they also serve seafood of course, however the food, service and atmosphere was a 10 out of 10. Highly recommeneded for those who can not eat shell fish but want to expereinece City Island this is for sure the place to go.
