The Rusty Moose is a great spot if you’re looking for something a little different from the usual burger places. I tried the bison burger and the Gorgonzola fries. The burger was definitely on the expensive side, but it was cooked perfectly and had excellent flavor—rich, juicy, and clearly high-quality. The Gorgonzola fries were a standout and absolutely worth ordering. They were flavorful without being overwhelming, and the portion was generous.

Service was excellent. Our server was friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed without being intrusive.

Overall, while the prices are higher than average, the quality of the food and the service make it worth it as an occasional treat. I’d definitely go back, especially for the fries.

11/8/25 I had lunch here with a Co worker and it was incredible. By far the best sweet tea I’ve ever had in life. Our server Joe S was awesome. Very attentive and just all around amazing. Next time I’m back in the area I will definitely return again.

Server was great. I always like an opportunity to have a Wagyu burger- good but not as flavorful/seasoned as I hoped. Sweet potato fries were some of the best I’ve had. Elk meatballs were great, too. Love the ambience and music

The Rusty Moose in Airway Heights offers an excellent mix of quality food, warm service, and a relaxed atmosphere. Even on a busy Friday night, the wait was short, and the staff was friendly, attentive, and efficient a great first impression that set the tone for the meal. The mac and cheese was easily the highlight: creamy, perfectly seasoned, and rich without being too heavy. The ribs were tender and flavorful, coated in a dark, tangy glaze that added a nice depth of flavor without overpowering the meat. The coleslaw provided a cool, crunchy contrast, and the mashed potatoes were smooth and buttery with a touch of seasoning that tied the plate together nicely. Portions were generous for the price, and the overall presentation showed care and consistency from the kitchen. The rustic wood interior and comfortable lighting created a cozy dining atmosphere that matched the hearty food perfectly. Overall, The Rusty Moose delivers a dependable and enjoyable dining experience. It’s the kind of local spot that feels both welcoming and well-run a great choice for anyone looking for a good meal and genuine service near Spokane or Airway Heights.

We were in need of a “real meal” after days of non – stop working to complete a job. Google maps suggested, and we sought it out. Quite a distance from the highway but worth the effort. (8 miles)

Immediate seating. Great beverage selection, had the local brand IPA.

Wait staff was efficient, and helpful. Food was good. Restaurant was clean and quiet. Good sized portions.

Would recommend you seek it out should you be traveling through the area as we were.

Great service, great atmosphere. Had a great wedge salad but my main course was meh. Had the stroganoff which was more like spaghetti with brown gravy with tiny bits of meat and mushrooms that were few and far in-between. Mashed potatoes with my wife’s meal were cold. Good but cold. My son liked the s’mores. More of a presentation thing with the pot and some sterno.

Half the tables were empty at 7 pm on a Friday night and we still had a 30 minute wait. A draft beer (24 oz) and house margarita on the rocks was $25 at the bar, plus tip. The french onion soup was excellent. The salmon lobster bisque was just ok. They were fairly priced at $9 for the portion size. The “wagyu” burger didn’t meet expectation compared to others and was likewise, just ok. For $25, it came with a handful of fries. The Prime Rib Dip sandwich wasn’t on crusty French bread but instead, a soft bread and a fairly small portion. I opted for the coleslaw as a side which was good. There is an added 1.9% service fee the restaurant keeps without explanation, except it is not your servers tip. We conveyed our disappointment to our server, who couldn’t have been nicer. She was excellent. We were given a $10 gift certificate, even as we said we would not be able to use it didn’t want it. We gave it to someone else who could. Summary: mediocre food at premium prices. The French Onion soup would be my recommendation, if you go.

Place was recommended by friends and was ok but a bit of a disappointment. When I called I was told reservations weren’t needed but when we got there we were told it would be a 45 minute wait, so not a great start. The decor was cool with lots of game on the walls, carved wood, and north woods decor, and the waiting lounge was comfy. Service was friendly and the menu had decent variety. We started with the elk meatballs – they were very flavorful (the sauces were just meh). We then decided to split the ribs, which were falling off the bone tender and flavorful. The apple slaw was nice and fresh tasting, but I found the potatoes and the Mac and cheese too bland. Portion sizes were generous, and overall it was a good meal.

incredible restaurant everything tasted so amazing. I am from Phoenix. never had food like this in my life. The music was so stupid. it’s like pop internet songs from 2015. please do something about that everyone at the table thought it was really lame.
