We did a day trip to Pelee island on a weekend, and we stopped in for a late lunch after driving by. Got lucky to be seated without a wait—just ahead of the dinner rush. We managed a great spot under a large umbrella, which was good on a hot day. The atmosphere was lively without being too loud, and the servers were polite and friendly throughout.

We ordered two poutines (one regular and one with pulled pork), the “Oh Canada” pizza, the Stone House burger, and a plate of chicken wings. The food came out in about 15 to 20 minutes, which was great considering how busy the place was.

I had the pizza and enjoyed it—fresh, flavourful, and made with the thin crust I prefer. Everyone else was happy with their meals too; all finished.

It did get quite busy, which makes sense given its location near the boat docking area and easy access. The only minor issue was having to ask a couple of times to get our water refilled, but nothing major. Bathrooms were clean, which is always a plus. All in all, a nice stop.

Let’s start with the good stuff.
– food was awesome. A bit expensive but really tasty.
– everything seems fresh and not frozen.
– beer was decent.
– the server was really nice and very apologetic about the wait times.
– they got a very nice patio.

Now the not so good stuff

– the wait time was horrible. Waited close to 30 minutes to get seated. But in their defence the place was busy and or they seem to be very short staffed.
– it was too hot in the patio area. I would have liked if they put something like a mist or a fan there. We were sweating bullets under 30 degree and direct sun.

I didn’t eat at a lot of restaurants while on the island. But this seems to be the best spot to grab a bite. I have no complaints about the quality of food. It was simply better than some restaurants I have tried on the mainland.

Great patio and super convenient location. Everyone was great there and the service was excellent. We ordered fish and chips and a salad to share and everything was top notch. The fish was particularly good. Not really much for vegan options. But it’s a super small island so I can’t imagine the get a lot of vegans. Still highly recommended. Make a reservation just in case. Certain days will get busy on the island

Had dinner at Stone House 1891 on Pelee Island. The setting is charming, and our server Bruno was friendly and attentive at first. However, service faded toward the end—we had to flag down another staff member just to get the bill.

The food was okay. The perch fish and chips looked good but were a bit too moist inside and lacked crispness. The calamari was decent but slightly rubbery. The pan-fried pickerel was overpowered by the sauce, masking the flavor of the fish.

Beautiful spot, but the meal and overall experience didn’t quite meet expectations.

We were told to go here for the Pizza and wings. We ordered the Stone house Meat Lovers and paired it with the Pelee island Cabernet Franc. That was awesome! The wings….there are 4 places that serve wings on the island, they are in the top 4.
My wife does not like spices and would suggest they offer garlic parmesan, salt and pepper or lemon pepper.

My family and I went to Pelee Island for the first time yesterday and stopped for dinner at Stone House. It was an incredibly hot day of bike riding and our hostess Janis was such an angel bringing me water while we waited for a table, seating us at a table in the shade and checking on us multiple times throughout our visit. She was so sweet and friendly. Our waitress Jody was great and very personable. The food we ordered was absolutely delicious and the Cesar’s were *chefs kiss! Amazing experience from start to finish! Thank you to these amazing ladies for making our first visit, one to remember!

The perfect spot to have a drink and watch the lake while waiting for the ferry. We’ve been twice now for lunch and dinner. The food is simply incredible! They have possibly the freshest, tastiest pizza I’ve ever eaten! I highly recommend the bacon double cheeseburger pizza, but everything we tried on the menu was fresh and delicious including the salad. Also, great beer. What’s not to like? One huge step up for Pelee Island. Thank you, Stone House, for making our visit even more memorable! Update: August 2025 – I’m so grateful we have such an excellent dining option on Pelee Island. I had the Burger with fries and the Cherry Lager last night. It was far better than I expected. Would highly recommend you get the bacon and extra patty on your burger if you’re really hungry. Also, I ordered an additional sode of the seasonal veggies which was delicious too! Thank you Jodie and Amanda and Stone House management!! Will be coming back soon.

Never had a bad meal here. Enjoyed the Baja tacos, sweet potato fries, Pelee Colada and Lake Breeze. Came out quickly and on point. Stone House is always our first stop after the boat ride north from Marblehead, OH! Thanks for the amazing hospitality Canada friends!

This beautiful spot on the edge of pelee island had some of the best cuisine I’ve ever tried. Yes, Im as shocked as you are. After stopping by the winery we decided to go here instead bc of the insane prices. First of all, this is a remote island with about 3 places to eat out at-the prices at this place weren’t exactly cheap but also were surprisingly close to what you see nowadays on the mainland at everyday simple restaurants. We got the seafood salad, burger, BBQ flatbread pizza, and brushetta garlic bread. The brushetta name was misleading because this was almost a completely different thing, with pesto, green leaves, garlic seasonings etc. However still DELICIOUS. The burger was excellent and juicy and lots of fillings. The seafood salad was an unexpected winner with a fresh, delicate pairing of the veggies, seafood mix, with sauce and seasonings. The flatbread was also delicious with tender chicken, tomatoes, and a sharp kick. The “brushetta” had about 6 peices and was great, although again not actually a brushetta at all. Yes, the service could have been better and faster, but they also seem understaffed and always packed-maybe they should hire another person for the peak hours in summer. Thats a management issue though.
