Great place just minutes walk from the famous Familia Sagrada church in Barcelona, Spain. Google Maps asked me to review some locations in Europe as part of their collab with the Ministry of Tourism. They had some input on the locations but I did not tell them when I was coming. If you want paid reviews goto Yelp.

Onto the restaurant. Great place to eat. You will pay a premium in pricing being so close to the tourist destinations. But well worth it. Having reviewed countless Mexican dishes back home, the food here is very authentic. The staff is polite and I recommend reservations. I got lucky and they had a free table; definitely worth bring the espousa and have a great meal.

Such a great place to eat mexican food. I really enjoyed the atmosphere to, it was loud with music but people were really enjoying themselves. First time trying Mezcal, it was also a really nice strong drink

Amazing authentic Mexican taqueria not a hundred meters from Sagrada, hidden in one of the quiet cross streets. We just had great dinner there. Tacos are amazing, nachos really, really good and salsa’s, just ❤️. The place has great vibes and they are just amplified by the service. They are always there, but very unobtrusive. Oh, and prices are very friendly!

After a few days of tapas and paella, I was craving something spicy — and La Taquería really hit the spot.

The place is small, colorful, and lively. You walk in and immediately feel a bit of that casual Mexican street-food energy. Not overly polished, not fancy — just fun. Tables are close together, the music is upbeat, and the whole vibe feels social.

The tacos were the highlight. Soft corn tortillas, well-seasoned meat, fresh toppings, and actual heat — not just mild European “spicy.” The flavors felt balanced and vibrant. The guacamole tasted fresh, and the margarita had a nice strong kick without being overly sweet.

Service was relaxed and friendly. It can get busy, especially at dinner, so it’s better to go a little earlier or be ready to wait. But once seated, things move smoothly.

Prices were fair for Barcelona, especially considering the quality.

Overall:
A great break from Spanish cuisine without feeling like a generic chain.
Colorful, flavorful, and a good place to share plates and conversation.

Very close to Sagrada Familia and they are famous for their tacos. We ordered tacos with marinated beef. It was prepared with marinated beef, melted cheese, onion, avocado and coriander. We really liked the taste, and the food was filling. The staff was kind and helpful.

Great place to stop when you want a quick bite. We chose two menus for one , with appetizers, four tacos ,drinks and desserts. 48 euros total. Great value for money. Quick and effective serving. Staff speaks good English, which is a plus. In the proximity of Sagrada Familia. Highly recommend.

A must visit near La Sagrada! Had tacos and a local Mexican fizzy drink. Both were really good. I am sure their menu has a lot more vegetarian options to try! Would definitely recommend even if you’re not a vegetarian.
Their guacamole is the best!

If you’re visiting the Basilica de la Sagrada Família and looking for a quick, delicious bite nearby, La Taqueria is an absolute gem!

I stopped by for a light lunch and was so impressed. The service is lightning fast, making it super convenient if you’re tight on time or just want something quick between sightseeing. Despite the speed, the quality is outstanding — fresh ingredients, vibrant flavours, and generous portions.

The menu offers plenty of choice if you’re hungrier or want to sit and relax a bit longer, but it’s also perfect for on-the-go. Their tacos are a must-try — simple, authentic, and packed with taste. It’s a casual spot, but the food definitely punches above its weight.

Highly recommend stopping here if you’re in the area. A fantastic find just steps away from one of the world’s most iconic landmarks.

Service was quick and professional. The food was exceptional. I would recommend eating here, particularly if you are in a hurry. Although the staff were happy to let us longer over some drinks too, so there is no rush.

Definately worth a visit. They also do takeaway.

The staff are lovely.
