We are frequent visitors to Galveston and have never been to Willy G’s. Our first experience was absolutely amazing. We sat on the back patio and it was serene. The food was sooooo good. Great flavors, good portion sizes, and the wine list is great as well. Leaving the best for last our server JJ was out of this world! Best service we have had in a LONG time! He was friendly, knowledgeable, and great to talk to! He recommended some food to us and hit the nail on the head! He talked very highly of the other staff and the owner as well! We will definitely be going back next time we are down there!

Had an awesome daytime late lunch. Ordered off of the bar menu and the happy hour menu. Got the shrimp and oyster combo, the 3 ounce surf and turf, the seafood dip and the calamari. We enjoyed all of these dishes. Also had a bloody Mary, margarita, chocolate martini & a lemon drop. Martini. All drinks were delicious. Topped it off with the dessert treats, which was four small sizes of a chocolate dessert, Keylime pie, cheesecake and bread pudding. Icing on the cake was our server Jamie. She was delightful and very attentive.

Our waitress did a fantastic job serving us. There are outdoor seating. Even though it was cold there were heaters outside. The only thing I wasn’t happy about is we were told we shouldn’t have issues exiting the parking lot because we provided our license plate to our waitress and she approved the exit. Well that didn’t happen. We were stuck in the parking lot and couldn’t exit because the exit arm wouldn’t lift up. So my husband went back to the restaurant talk to someone. And that person was exceptionally rude and disrespectful.

Went in for lunch. I had the G’s burger and my wife the Cod sandwich.
They weren’t cheap, but we’ll worth the price. The service was excellent and 3 hours of parking wad included.

We had a wonderful experience there today. The service was outstanding! We both ordered the shrimp platter. The shrimp was fresh and so delicious! The flavors left my palate wanting more, if my stomach wasn’t so full. Don’t forget to walk around to see the cruise ships. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Stopped in here for some snacks and drinks while waiting for the Texian Navy boat parade on Saturday. This place is awesome. The atmosphere is mid to high end steak house vibe. We sat on the porch so we could see the boats. Our waiter Robert was amazing. He took great care of us, always kept our drinks full and was an awesome source of information on the menu. I had the Oysters Rockefeller, we had the fresh east coast oysters, an appetizer and several salads. We were all thoroughly impressed and we will return again.

Absolutely great experience
The food was delicious and the service was truly outstanding. Gabriela, our server, went above and beyond from the very beginning to take excellent care of us. Her attention to detail and warm attitude made a big difference. The presentation of the dishes was beautiful, and the patio area was spectacular a perfect spot to enjoy a meal.

And the best part of all, one of the reason I give this place five stars is because they are pet friendly. They welcomed my dog, offered him water, and were genuinely attentive to him the entire time. That kind of care is the most valuable thing any place can offer.

If I had to suggest anything, it would be to improve the fans a bit so it’s not as hot on really warm days. But everything else was amazing beautiful restaurant, lovely atmosphere, excellent service, and great food. Highly recommend!

10/5/2025: On a gorgeous day, my Aunt and I decided to drive to Galveston to have lunch. I threw out options like Gaido’s and Grand Galvez. She was insistent on Willie G’s. I have been to the one on in the Galleria many times. I used to work near that one, so it was a convenient lunch and happy hour spot for me and my coworkers. I was excited to try the Galveston location.
We parked in the area near the entrance and noted the free 3 hour parking sign. Just bring a photo in of your license plate. That was a plus. We ended up walking in the back entrance by mistake. When we arrived at the hostess booth, both attendees were a little sour. No smile, no pleasantness. That always amazes me how it is so natural to be like that. I worked in the restaurant business at their age (or maybe younger) and I can never imagine not smiling and greeting the guests. Different world today for sure!
We were seated in a nice booth. The table linens suggested a fine dining, so I was looking forward to it very much. Our waiter was super nice, but he was so soft spoken and had an accent, it was very hard to understand him. He brought fresh garlic bread to the table and gave us time to review the menu. We decided to split the wedge salad, bowl of lobster bisque. and an appetizer of shrimp Cabo. Our salad came out first. We told the waiter we wanted to split before it was brought to our table. It arrived on one plate and the waiter handed me an additional plate. He said he told me they do not do splits in the kitchen. Maybe he did tell us. I couldn’t hear him. Regardless, I have never been told they do not so splits. I get it that it might seem to them as cheap to them. It’s not that. Neither of us can eat a full seafood meal and we didn’t want to drive back to Houston feeling tired after a heavy meal. The wedge was good. I’ve had better. The soup arrived next. This time we were waited on by a different guy. He brought the bowl to me not knowing we intended to split the soup. He too said they don’t do splits in the kitchen, but he was very nice to take it to a tray on the side and split it for us. Imagine the mess if I were to do it! The bisque was good It has some large chunks of lobster in it with celery. It was smooth and creamy as bisque should be. Lastly, our shrimp Cabo arrived. It was served on a bed of onion straws and corn kernels. The bacon that wrapped the shrimp was crispy and the shrimp itself was very tasty. That item was easy to split since it arrived on a boat plate. There are four to an order. Easy to split between two people.
When were were ready to leave, I gave my Landry’s card information and asked the waiter about the parking situation. He said something about his manager, looked to the direction of his manager, wrote the plate number down, said something else, then walked away. He was terribly hard to understand, even in a quiet restaurant. When he came back with our check, I asked again about the parking and he made a gesture that it was taken care of and we were good.
Overall, the hostess and waitstaff need to take some lesson from the second waiter who helped us. I wish we would have gotten him to serve out table. I could understand him, hear him, he was helpful, and get this… he smiled! I will probably not take the time to go back with the issues I experienced. I don’t want to press the point about sharing if I dined there again. I share most of my meal because I don’t care to eat as much as a regular meal contains. I don’t think I should feel bad for that.
The restaurant is by the docs on the water. They do offer outside seating. It’s not the prettiest view, but it is a water view. A very large barge went by while we were there.
Thankfully, exiting the parking area was easy. I would have been super upset if I had to go back in to fix that.
