Great Mexican food, very quick service and friendly staff. The portions are generous and food is cooked to order, served fresh and hot. Has indoor and some outdoor seating. Parking is somewhat difficult but it’s worth it! Highly recommend the tostadas and tacos. The chicken and carne asada are full of flavor tastes homemade, they also have a chips and salsa bar that is so good. 5 Stars!

It is a tiny place tucked on a corner. There are very few tables, so don’t expect to get one easily. It seems to always be packed and the food is good. They have a great salsa bar with chips. The burritos were huge and tasty. As for the meat: the Carne Asada was just OK, the El pastor was quite good, the lengua was fine, and the Tripe was a little undercooked for my taste. All in all it was good enough that I may go back next time I visit Santa Cruz.

The first taco spot I’ll actually make a habit in Santa Cruz, and a good place to get a bit of tongue! Hers: a tasty stuffed quesadilla. Mine: leading with the Baja fried fish taco. Nicely breaded & fried, well balanced spicy aioli and cabbage. The soft taco with beef was basic but enjoyable. And the wildcard, the soft taco lengua exceeded expectations with tender beef tongue and its own spicy sauce. More spice? Self serve counter and 6 fresh salsas! For fun, finished with a chocoflan. I don’t think it’s better than a regular flan, but I took a pic and you can decide!

Sooo good, we got their asada fries and it was awesome. It’s enough to feed someone who is really hungry or order it to share with another person and have some tacos. No high chairs and limited seating. The salsa bar is really good too. We will definitely be coming back. Lots of vegetarian options

A hole in the wall place with food that will melt all of your worries away. YUMMY!! Busy during holidays and in the Summer.

The Turbo burrito was HUGE (double the size of my burrito in the photo…) I should have taken a photo of the Turbo! But my husband demolished most of it and packed some up for later.

We’re visiting from Idaho for my brother’s cancer treatment and surgery at Stanford, and after exploring Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park, we passed through Santa Cruz looking for dinner. Everyone told us California has the best Mexican food — but honestly, most of what we’ve had so far has been pretty lackluster (Idaho’s got some hidden gems!). That is… until we tried Taqueria Los Pericos!

We chose it because of all the amazing reviews, and wow — it did not disappoint! The tortilla chips were hands-down the best I’ve ever had (I’d go back just for those ), and as my brother said, the tortilla on my giant quesadilla was MONEY!

He loved his carne asada fries, and my sister-in-law’s nachos were next-level (the cheese stretch alone deserves its own review — check out the pics for yourself!). We also tried one of the salsas from the salsa bar — it was orange with a little horseradish kick — and it was absolutely phenomenal.

If you’re considering going here, stop scrolling and just do it. You won’t be disappointed!

Drive by and it looked busy so we decided to stop and try. Wonderful woman on the till and the food was delicious. Freshly prepared and very quick service. Would definitely recommend. If we were staying in the area we’d return.

Such an amazing place!! Al pastor quesadilla, crispy tacos and regular steak tacos were SOO good! Much better than several taquerias in Mexico. 100% worth it

Be ready to wait for a bit and if you can, order takeout and eat somewhere with a nice view

The most underrated burrito in the Bay Area and quite possibly the entire country. Burritos are my favorite food so I’ve tried quite a bit, and the super burrito with Carne Asada from here is in my top 3 of all time. Same level as El Farolito or La Taqueria. The tortilla is perfectly prepared, the meat flavorful, and the guac and vegetables fresh. And it’s extremely reasonably priced!

It’s also not just a burrito spot. The tacos here are incredible—if you get the fish tacos it comes out freshly cooked and incredibly juicy.

They also have complimentary tortilla chips with a great salsa bar. And if the food wasn’t already excellent, the staff is always friendly and extremely good at what they do.

I would quite literally rather go here than any Michelin 3 Star restaurant.
