Old school burger place that does not disappoint. This is a step back in time ina good way. They have variety on their menu but it is a burger place. They focus on making a fantastic burger and not trying to fancy it up. A good SOLID burger that’s what you get. I will definitely be back and definitely recommend El Cap it is fantastic.

What a great place of history and food. Very fresh burger with the trimmings. Dennis made us feel welcome and told us about the history of this place and surrounding area. History goes back to 1962 and has a sports theme with old pictures and memorabilia. I highly recommend this place.

Def one of the best burgers I’ve had. You can almost taste the history of that griddle on the crunch of my double burger. Melty cheese amazing grilled onions

Been going to El Cap’s for over 50 years whenever we are in St. Petersburg. It’s a wonderful small eatery with lots of nostalgia. The local favorite has an award winning classic hamburger . Prices are great and the employees are wonderful. Will keep going back to one of my all time favorite places whenever we are able. Places like El Cap are rare to find these days. Highly recommend!!

I asked for mine medium & it was perfectly cooked. So grateful our nice Server recommended Medium.
It truly was so juicy=‘s messy that my husband said while watching me eat it, I looked like a wild animal eating its prey Worth it as it dripped on to my hands

I wish they burgers came with fries or something. Its just your typical run of the mill burger joint. We weren’t impressed by BBQ pulled pork- but the fried food we had was good. Wish we got the burger but the didn’t impress us enough to make it any type of usual spot for us. Would be great for a more picky eater that wants a good burger/fried comfort food that is a little higher quality then usual. It wasn’t super expensive but its not super cheap.

This place is awesome. First time visit and we popped in not knowing what to expect. Fate was on our side and we sat at the bar and Larry the bartender made the experience even better. Food came out fast, burger and sandwich were top notch and we enjoyed a chat with a gentleman who had been coming here since his dad brought him at 8 year old.

This is the type of old school burger joint that you walk into and know you’re getting a good meal every time. This was our last meal in St. Pete over the weekend and was the perfect way to cap off the trip. Great onion rings, and be sure to get some of the corn dog nuggets too they’re so good.
As for the burger, it is perfectly seared but so juicy, and the condiments you can add on top are the peak of freshness so you really can’t go wrong with anything. Plus it’s all super affordable. This is a legendary spot in St. Pete for good reason!
