This place makes you so happy!
Everything I ordered made me satisfied!
My most favorite was lobster bisque. You want to try it! It’s is next level. When you start eating their risotto, you can’t stop eating until it’s gone. Fish is fresh and very delicious. Traverse city has amazing water quality, so having fishes with their water makes so fresh! I highly recommend this place! The service also very nice! I really enjoyed this restaurant. Thank you!

The road construction made it a much longer trip to get here. We started with cocktails for $13 and $16.50. We both ordered the Filet ($43) with a side salad ($6). At this price point, I was surprised a bread service was not included. Since we ordered our steaks medium well, they came butterflied and were covered with sauteed mushrooms with a baked potato. They were good. A house red was $11. Vincent was efficient and kept us happy.

Solid restaurant with a killer view of Grand Traverse Bay. They are known for their fish – excellent! – but their other entrees are hearty takes on classics. Pair your meal with a local wine. Then step outside for some music. It’s a great stop.

The food was mediocre and it was priced like a 5 star dinning establishment. $34 for a pasta swimming in water, without any flavor and without protein, it’s just silly. $39 for a fish that lacked any sort of character… my boyfriend was starving and he didn’t even eat half of it

The food took some time to be ready too… not a good experience

Got right in, wasnt impressed by anything except the veiw and fireplace. Service was fine, dont know if they have dessert, wasnt offered. Food was fine, no dinner rolls and all bread came drowned in olive oil, waitress found me a few slices the saved for someones soup to eat our dip. Price was higher end but fresh and real.

We dined here for the first time on Thursday, Oct 16, the last day of our weeklong Michigan adventure. We definitely saved the best for last! Waterfront table, excellent service from Ani (sp?) and the best whitefish we’ve ever had! And we’ve had a lot all over the state! Mushroom and asparagus risotto and lobster-shrimp bisque were also fantastic! We will be back! Thank you, Apache Trout Grill!!

We stopped in last night (Friday 1/30/26) for my father’s birthday and we had the whole place to ourselves! We had such a nice dinner. Our server Danielle was outstanding and very personable. The perch was delicious and the carrot cake was the best my husband said he ever had! We had a great evening celebrating my father.

Dinner at Apace Trout was delicious! We started with the excellent French onion soup that came to the table piping hot. We all loved it! Our entrees included the yummy seafood Alfredo with a wonderful Alfredo sauce, the tender & flaky halibut over a bed of mushroom/asparagus risotto, and 4 large scallops over the same generous serving of risotto. Everything was exceptional!

Pros:
1. Our waiter, Vincent, was really attentive, kind, and did an amazing job.
2. The house-made desserts (but only the house-made ones) were delicious.
3. The calamari was fantastic – not drenched in batter; flavorful; not chewy.
4. Onion soup and lobster bisque were good (not incredible, but good).

Cons:
1. Their online wait list is a lie. We were told that there was no wait; put ourselves on the wait list just in case, and arrived within 5 minutes of our appointed time. We ended waiting over 35 minutes.
2. We were very disappointed to see the menu changed so drastically. Many of our favorites were no longer available (twin medallion filets; whitefish paté; brie cheese dip; the complimentary bread with balsamic and olive oil, to name a few. I know some were phased out a while ago, some were removed recently.). It seems that they cut costs for themselves while raising prices for the customer, and taking out many “fan favorites” was a mistake.
3. The prime rib had so much fat on it that half of it was inedible.
4. The walleye special wasn’t delicious. It lacked seasoning. The green beans that came along with it were not seasoned with anything at all, not even salt. Come on, do better.
5. The risotto side was way too creamy and lacked development.
6. The overall wait for the food to come out was insane!!! I don’t mind a wait between appetizers and entrees, but being at a restaurant for 2 hours just due to waiting for the food was too much. (In Europe, I’d be used to that. But not here.)

Overall, being a seasoned customer, I’m disappointed with the quality and quantity of everything. The service was amazing, but it doesn’t/shouldn’t make up for the restaurant itself.
