We come here often, and the food and service has been top notch every time. It’s some of the best sushi we’ve had outside Japan. Their wasabi and soy sauce are especially delicious!

The service has been exceptional and they are so incredibly graceful and kind. I recently took my nephew who has never had real sushi before, and they went out of their way to boost his confidence and gave him very thoughtful tips. He left full and happy!

Give them a chance; you’ll be glad you did. It’s well worth the drive if you’re in the downtown core, as it’s likely better than any sushi you’ll find downtown, uptown, or anywhere else in the GTA.

One of my favourite Japanese restaurants. Always go for the Omakase. The home made dishes you don’t find anywhere else is the best.

My husband and I used to be regulars at the downtown Toronto location before it closed ~10 years ago. We always remembered it as the best sushi downtown and lamented its closure.

We talked about going to the Newmarket location and finally did, and the chef and his wife remembered us after all these years!! It was so nice to catch up, everything was the same as we remembered.

This is the most unpretentious sushi restaurant. Their focus is on high quality food and ingredients, not on being cutting-edge or trendy or innovative. Delicious, authentic food for fair prices in a cozy atmosphere with kind staff. We’re looking forward to our next visit!

It was an excellent experience of Omakase (cheif’s choice). The food was nice, service was good, the ambience was cozy.

Remember to bring cash, cards are not accepted.

This restaurant has been in Newmarket for a long time and still carries that late 90’s, early 2000 sushi restaurant ambience. This is not the place to go to if you’re trying to impress your date, or if you look at value matching AYCE restaurants. The fish is of decent quality, wasabi texture is bit watery, and rice was slightly over seasoned hence loose. Overall was good though. (7/10)
Service is not pushy and left our party comfortably in peace , but maybe too little attention as chef was busy the whole time we were there and there was nobody else checking on us. That has its good and its bad I suppose but definitely has plenty of room to improve. (7/10)
As mentioned the decor brings back nostalgia memories of old time sushi restaurants, the serving plate is very nice, points added for attention to these details. (8/10)

The owner is super nice!! He even complimented me for being tall, young, and handsome It really reminded me of those cozy, family-run restaurants in Japan. The food was delicious, and the owner enthusiastically introduced the seasonal must-try dishes — such a friendly guy! The toro was so generous it felt like it was free!! I am going to visit again!!!! ありがと

Unbelievable sushi experience. If it wasn’t so highly recommended we try this place, we probably never would have stopped. I’ve never had sushi quite like this in my life. Flavour and presentation were 10/10. Definitely will be going back.

This restaurant is located on Davis Drive but you have access to the back parking via Hill St., then come to the front entrance.
It’s a small but very cozy restaurant and you feel the warm vibe when you go inside.
It was my 2nd visit and I enjoyed it as the first one that was many years ago.
Everything is made from fresh ingredients.
And it seems the owner is doing everything there, including taking your order, preparing the food, cashing out and even getting order by phone He surprised us by saying welcome in our mother language .
We tried Asahi (as the traditional beer) and Plum Wine that was very sweet (so I recommend it to people who likes very sweet drinks).
Tuna Sashimi and Avocado Salad as an Appetizer, were very fresh and delicious.
The Assorted Tempura was very delightful and tasty but it came very late even after our second time main order.
Red Dragon and Spider Roll maki were good and big, they come at 8 pieces. I liked Red Dragon better than Spider Roll.
I really enjoyed my time there .

We live downtown but drive here from time to time for wonderful Japanese food. The Chawanmushi (steamed egg custard), Hamachi Kama (grilled yellowtail neck), Chef’s bento A and B, uni sushi were delicious, as usual. Thank you for a great meal!
