Been dying to try this spot since it opened and we read some pretty favorable reviews about them. Came with a buddy as our wives weren’t able to join us (blessing in disguise). They offer military discounts, however, it doesn’t apply to their steak orders.

I wondered how are their prices so reasonable?!?! When you see their actual steak portions, you’ll understand why. When you get your order, you’ll think you ordered a steak•bone marrow• quesadilla kids meal. I looked at my plate and immediately thought, I’m still going to be hungry after this meal. My NY steak was undercooked (ordered it medium, and it was cooked med-rare), my buddy’s ribeye was cooked med-rare as ordered. The baby bone marrow was just enough to spread onto the 2 micro cheese quesadillas. The included guacamole was good, their refried beans—I mean how can this be anything but what’s expected (you only get 2 tablespoons of each). Their NY steak was $19.99 and the ribeye was $24.99.

I went back to order 1 carne asada street taco and 1 pork Adobada street taco. They were as good as you’d expect in National City/Chula Vista. It had chopped onions & cilantro and they had the other condiments (hot salsa, limes, beets, pico de gallo, etc.) to help yourself to. In the end, a bit underwhelming. The tacos are as good but no better than a fast food or sit down casual spot which served tacos as their specialty. Their steaks while inexpensive, there’s a reason for them being so reasonable. For that price point, honestly, you’d be better served going to Texas Roadhouse or Sizzler’s. Their service was friendly and welcoming, no complaints there.
