I tried the new baked Pecan French toast. Was nothing like the picture in the menu. I asked my waitress and another one who walked by “would you eat this? They both shook their heads and said emphatically NO. One even looked at it and said “I know” My thought is why even bring this to the table?
I ate the 3 strips of bacon that came with it, but did not touch the French Toast. Look at the picture. That is EXACTLY how it arrived at the table. I purposely cropped out the bacon as not to distract from this pile of…uh, French Toast.

Awesome dining experience at Cracker Barrel in Mechanicsville, Virginia. As soon as I arrived the I was seated by the hostess. The food was really fresh and wonderful in taste. The service was great. My server was very friendly. And otherwise the atmosphere and cleanliness of the place was very good. Other people enjoying their meal seated across from me shared that the food was really good stuff. Great place to eat, shop, and relax with family and friends. One of my favorite places to visit for great down home classic meals and country style food.

A local restaurant, well established in the Virginia Community, that serves great food. Five [5] Stars for fantastic service, hot meal, and always a good atmosphere. The only problem that I had was getting my wife out of the store area where she always finds something to buy. I will have to admit, I saw some really good things ! But I clamp down on the wallet, put my blinders on, and walk bravely out the door. I almost didn’t make it , if any of you can relate. I saw a cowboy hat that called my number. That’s when I knew it was time to head for the hills. Left my Sweetheart, browsing like she was in ROSS, TJMAXX, or you know MARSHALL’S ! Well, you get the picture, it’s a trap! Everything was great , so you see why I scored it the way I did. Suggest you go by, I would say tell them I sent you, I don’t know where you are, so just remember if you’re taking the wife, put a rope around her waist to pull her out. If it’s the other way around, grab him by the belt and only allow him to go to the restroom, the pull him straight to the door. If you are with a few of your beasties, then you’re just in trouble, everyone has got to know their limits and remember who’s got the car keys. . Thank you for allowing my sense of humor to bring a smile to your face. If everyone would do it, what a kinder place this world would be. Lots of love to you in your future endeavors. Food was delicious; I have a bad food allergy bc of alpha gal. it was only possible because the waitress was so amazing by making sure my food did not contain any mammal product (that I’m allergic to, thanks to a tick bite). We love going to cracker barrel, no matter where we are. This was in Mechanicsville, Va. Next time we drove there I’m definitely eating there again.

My wife and I were seated promptly which was good but that positive experience quickly went downhill from there. Our waitress was nice but very hard to hear since she was wearing a mask. After taking our order and giving us drinks we didn’t see her again for quite some time. We were at our table for 50 minutes waiting for our food when it finally arrived. Not once did anyone tell us the kitchen was behind or short staffed. When our food finally arrived, my wife’s pancakes were crispy and burnt. She had asked for whip cream but it wasn’t brought out. We told the server to just take them back and remove from our bill. I had ordered multi grain toast with my food and it came to me dry with no side of butter. Not once did anyone come to our table to address the returned food. Our waitress did apologize when I was given the check but I feel I as a customer management doesn’t care about the service.
