The interior design was impressive and tasteful. The food was very sauce heavy with minimal choices for vegetarian or gluten free diners. The menu made very clear that they do not offer substitutions. I hate cheese sauce so that automatically eliminated about half the menu. Nothing exciting or unique on the menu but my meal was tasteful. The margarita was delicious and incredibly priced. The wait staff was attentive and I couldn’t believe how fast our food arrived!! Overall I would return and I would recommend. I was very impressed by the price. Location is very convenient.

We were soo pleased with our experience here!! Everything was perfect. The food was incredible, we didn’t wait long for a table, and the service was impeccable. The servers are efficient and attentive. We never had to ask for anything. I highly recommend the carne asada, chorizo tacos, and the fish tacos. Looking forward to dining here again soon!

Our first time dining here and was confident of a good meal based off of many positive reviews here. My wife and I stopped in for lunch on a Wednesday afternoon. They have a generous lunch menu with lots of choices. My wife ordered the lunch fajitas and I chose the Cascara special plate which is a grilled steak and onion taco covered in queso cheese sauce. Both plates came with rice but the fajitas also came with beans. The food arrived quickly and it looked great. The steak taco covered in queso cheese, however, after getting into it, it was not steak at all but rather shredded roast beef and very little of it. And there were no grilled onion. Now the fajita plate was plentiful and it did not disappoint. The Cascara special was far from special and I would absolutely not recommend it. The beer was good and cold and the house margarita was a real solid choice. Overall we plan on returning, next time I will choose differently.

A Sunday afternoon with our niece and we were in the mood for some Mexican food. Carreta’s was close by so we decided to give it a try. So glad we did. Great atmosphere. Super clean and beautifully decorated. The service was speedy and friendly and the food was simply delicious! We were blown away by the entire experience! We will be back!

There is something about this place that I can’t quite put my finger on. I have been here at least 6 times, because it is close to me and they stay open later than other spots nearby. The atmosphere is nice. The service has always been up to par, but never extraordinary. I have tried many menu items, and I have always considered the food to be barely average based upon the price. Portions tend to be smaller than many other local places. I don’t love or hate it. It is just a convenient place for me to go. This time I had the enchiladas mole. They were….decent.

First time here. Aesthetic was very calm and pleasing. Very clean and neatly nestled restaurant. We were seated quickly, booths were spacious. The waiter didn’t speak English, or at least he feigned the ability not to. Ordered waters to drink and placed food orders. Now I’ve been to several Mexican cuisine establishments but this is the first one where the portion sizes were so small that there were no take home boxes needed. A negative for me but to each his or her own. The food was very tasty despite the plate size. The nachos we ordered did not include lettuce tomato and sour cream and we were charged $2 a piece for each of those individual items on a small saucer. A first for me. The wings were meaty and large but not cooked crispy. I’m not sure if they could have come that way either. The Buffalo sauce and the ranch were good as well. Despite that I would not return. Best of luck to those who do decide to go.

My wife and I have driven past Carreta’s many times because its in a small strip of businesses and didn’t look like much from the outside. Last night we stopped and ate there and wondered how could we have missed such a wonderful Mexican restaurant. When we entered the restaurant we we were in awe at the beautiful decorating. No paper flags hanging from the ceiling, no handwritten signs, just elegance. The staff were very friendly and the food was out of this world served with elegant glassware. I have said elegant but that does not mean the restaurant is expensive. It is no more expensive than El Maguey or similar Mexican restaurants. I just say enough about Carreta’s, it was a wonderful dining experience for my wife and I. Don’t judge a book by its cover!

Very nice, new, clean, Mexican restaurant. The decor is unique with large paintings of Mexican heritage on the walls. There were plenty of servers on, we were waited on quickly, and the food came out in a reasonable time. They are kid friendly with high-chairs. Our server Nancy, was attentive, though it was not busy. The food was good; it tasted authentic to a northerner ♂️ The portions were smaller than similar Mexican restaurants I’ve visited, so it felt expensive, even though it was not.
I’d recommend visiting if you’re comfortable with meals between $10 & $20. I hope you have a good experience like we did.
