We were there to watch some football and have a couple drinks. The beer was cold. Also, has a vodka drink which was made nicely.
Ordered the shredded chicken tacos at a recommendation from the waitress and they were pretty good
If you are looking for a chill spot to watch sports with decent deals on food and beer then check this place out.
My review is based on lunch service only. 1st and foremost, Ashley the weekday manager is on point. Very professional and polite and had has a genuine interest in customer satisfaction. I’ve had many items on the menu but today, the Turkey Melt is on point. Excellent sandwich.
One of the best secrets in the Gilbert area. It’s usually a very short wait for service and food. Forget about DT Gilbert or Chandler. Icons is a well kept secret for great food a d customer service. Happy Hours starts everyday at 2 and all day Mondays. Come get some… you won’t be disappointed
As we walked in, though, it started coming back: that we did not remember being overwhelmed by the previous visit. I must say though, this go around was much better. The food was hot, with a few different items on the menu. the two pretzels were huge, as well as burn-your-fingers-hot, plus the wanton-wrapped deep fried pickles were a nice addition.
We did not have any cocktails this time so I cannot say if there was an improvement since out last visit. The ambiance was the same as last time, typical bar scene.
7/16/22: Checked out Catching Flights the Saturday before July 4th. Arrived around 4 or 4:30 and it was probably about half full. There is plenty of parking, which is always good and the place was maybe 1/3 to 1/2 full.
We picked a table in the back to avoid the loud booming reverberations from the live music. After a few minutes passed we got worried sitting in the back may not have been smart since no server came over quickly, but another minute or two later someone came by.
It was typical bar food, nothing to write home about but nothing to complain about either. The fried avo bites were a different appetizer than we’ve seen before and although I am 100% they were not freshly made but from a bag, they were pretty good albeit a bit too well fried.
The drink my sister got was 99% ice and 1% alcohol, totally not worth the $12 (I think that was the cost) considering it was more of a shot glass sized drink. The San Diego Sandwich and Black & Bleu Burger came out cold and hot, respectively. Both tasted fine, the tater tots were not specially seasoned in any way, just plain ol’ tots.
Was it a good meal for the price? Sure. Was it so good that we would go back? No.
The place was PACKED, so we sat at the bar. The bartenders were friendly and attentive. The margaritas were delicious. We ordered a patty melt and a mushroom Swiss burger – both of which were delicious, however took a very long time to receive after ordering, so order sooner than you think you need to! The spicy cheese curds held us over until our food came out and the Midwest-manner conversation with other patrons was familiar and welcomed out here in the desert.
We can’t wait to go back!
