Good food and good times! This is a great place if you have a large group. Also, for a nice date or night out with your boo! If you have someone who has never had this type of dining experience, this would be a good first one. Definitely recommend!

We decided to sit at a table for a quiet dinner and boy did we get a treat. The problem with the food being rushed wasn’t that much of an issue, it’s that you could tell. The sushi was served on a wet plate, and our dumplings were burnt. The kicker was the manager (she was blonde curly hair). We witnessed how unprofessional she treats her staff. She humiliated a server when the server told her the days she needed off. She yelled at her in front of customers about it and it was super uncomfortable and you couldn’t help feel sorry for her. She was even telling her how she was goin to need someone to pick up her slack, was going to need to hire more staff and then only said sorry for being honest. The napkins felt linty and had holes. Girls at front greeted us friendly server was super friendly tipped her well and we told her we’re sorry for her manager.

Wasabi Restaurant in Knoxville is a fantastic spot for anyone craving authentic and satisfying Japanese cuisine. The menu offers a great variety—from fresh sushi and flavorful hibachi dishes to beautifully presented bento boxes and combination plates.

Don’t miss their bento boxes and combos—they’re generous, balanced, and full of flavor. I had the chance to try the steak and scallops, and it was outstanding: the steak was juicy and tender, and the scallops were perfectly seared with a buttery finish. The atmosphere is welcoming, the service attentive, and the experience always worth repeating.

Nice people , good service. Not bad for east Tennessee. Constructive criticism is that the seasoning was a bit salty and the fried rice a little mashed together when it could have been fried a bit longer before being served. Again, nice people and good service just need a little practice on the sauce and frying of the rice.

I’ve been going to the Wasabi on Lovell Road for years and it’s always been a chill, reliable spot, until now. This was the first time I’ve seen the short man who seemed to be managing the floor, and the entire experience shifted the second he got involved.

He made our group get up and move multiple times over seating that wasn’t actually an issue, and he handled it with the kind of attitude you’d expect from someone trying out for a power trip, not running a restaurant. Instead of listening when we tried to explain something, he talked over us, assumed he already knew the problem, and spoke to us in a condescending, dismissive way. It was my daughter’s birthday and trying to communicate with him was exhausting for everyone so we just accepted that he was not going to listen to us (or comprehend what we were saying) and let it go for her sake. For a job that’s literally built on hospitality, he showed none. It felt like he forgot the whole point is to take care of guests. I work in hospitality myself, and I would never treat guests the way he treated us.

My family and I are reasonable people; we weren’t being difficult. We’ve been loyal customers for a long time, and we’ve never had an interaction like this before. If this is the direction management is heading, that’s really disappointing.

It also felt like they were rushing everyone out, they handed us takeout boxes almost immediately after the food was served, and I had only taken one bite.

Hoping they address this, because Wasabi used to be one of our favorites.

It can be pretty tight with all the other people but it’s amazing watching them cook soooo much food. It’s an awesome experience.if you’ve never been to a place like that it’s totally worth going. They give you so much food.

Our waitress was great! She made sure we were taken care of without being intrusive or rushing us.
The sushi was fresh, with large pieces, and delicious. I wish there was more of a selection without shellfish in it, but the rolls I had were delicious!

It was very good! This was the first time I’ve tried sushi and it was good. They have very high quality food and give you a lot of it so although the prices are high, you get your money’s worth. It was really cool watching him cook our food for us but probably not the best for little kids because they got scared of the fire. Overall, pretty great and their service was really good. Our waitress refilled my drink every time before I even thought about asking.

We just left this restaurant. We sat down at the grill and ordered our food and then the cooks came out with the cart of food. As soon as the flame hit the grill cockroaches started scurrying everywhere across our table. We jumped up and told the cook and the waitresses that there was bugs crawling out of their grill and the cook was like oh well and kept cooking. He said he literally said oh OK and threw the oil to the grill we had we got up and left as fast as possible. Just want to leave a review so everyone knows there is bugs in that place not just one cockroach that was like eight.
