While working in Middleton, Wisconsin, we stopped into Hubbard Avenue Diner for lunch (right next to the National Mustard Museum). It ended up being the perfect quick stop during our break.
This classic American diner has really cute retro vibes, friendly service, and a menu full of comfort food favorites. I ordered the half sandwich and soup combo — the turkey pesto sandwich was fresh and flavorful, and the white chicken chili was warm and delicious. ️
They’re also known for their pies , so definitely consider saving room for dessert!

Great selection in menu. Sausage was a little plain but coffee was good. There was a little wait but it was Saturday morning. First time for pie with breakfast but it worked.

Hubbard Ave. Diner is as Americana as you can get. The food is all made daily on site. They’re known for all their pies. Thru offer different varieties dept ding in the season.
All the food was good and service was nice. They offer meatloaf, burgers and fish fry Fridays typical to diners along with a decent menu. The popover rolls were served warm with butter!
I liked that they chilled the salad plate and greens were nice and crisp. The turkey dinner was good and wholesome with a really good cranberry relish. The broasted 1/2 chicken was good too. We split a slice of caramel apple pie and I can say I loved it as the crust was really flaky!

Place was clean and service was excellent! Putting 4 stars because the huevos rancheros weren’t very “ranchero” if you ask me.. and the Hash-browns weren’t very brown.. they were a bit undercooked. But now we know for next time to ask to make them a bit more crispy. And for the huevos rancheros, we recommend mixing the black beans with a red chunky salsa and putting the eggs underneath it all.

Good food in a fun atmosphere. Have been there several times, and the food is as expected, but the services varies. Service was great Saturday morning, but Sunday, it seemed apathetic, and the front counter was weird when trying to buy a t-shirt – there was an aversion to simply telling me the price. I recommend Hubbard Ave for a good standard breakfast. I have had pie in the past, but not this time around.

The dining experience at this establishment was highly enjoyable. The restaurant offers traditional dishes that are exceptionally well-prepared. The grilled salmon was particularly flavorful, and the apple pie was a standout dessert.

Another fun meal at The Hubbard. I just love the diner mystique and this place does not disappoint. It has a wonderful diner decor. Clean. The staff are all friendly.
It’s a great place to go for a really good plate of food, even if you go alone. They have small tables for 2 or just take a stool at the counter.
My new favorite is the Mediterranean pasta dish with salmon. Despite being a diner and in the Midwest, they prepare the salmon very well. They don’t overcook it; it is still tender and moist inside. The combination of capers, olives, and feta gives this dish a nice tangy bite.
Whatever entree you order, gotta save room for pie! I am picky about apple pie. The Hubbard’s apple pie is probably the best ‘restaurant apple pie’ I’ve tasted. But, there are other favorites, that will be enjoyed by others at the table as well.
This has become a favorite frequent for me.

We stopped here for lunch. It was busy but was seated in less than 10 minutes. Our waitress was prompt and friendly. I had a turkey bacon pesto sandwich and fries. It came out hot and plentiful. My husband had a Ruben sandwich and he said it was good.

Food was very good….well executed diner options, with a seemingly homemade approach. I had the burger and it was good. Fries were spot on. I also had the mint chocolate chip shake-perfection! We got pie slices to go. Double silk is great. Key lime is a solid choice and the chocolate chip cheesecake is a good option as well. Key lime is the winner though. Service was a bit slow and the restaurant could definitely use a good thorough detail cleaning, but overall a great choice.

Sort of a retro diner set up. Plenty of variety on the menu, and a big plus for me is that they serve breakfast all day! Seating can get tight during busy times. We had to wait about 30 minutes to get a table, but we had a party of 8.
The food was hot and delicious and didn’t take very long to get. Their pies are what they are known for, and I must say they are delicious! Check their website for the daily specials!
