The first County Grill & Smokehouse was opened in 1995 in Yorktown, Virginia. With hard work and determination we opened a second location in Hampton, Virginia. Our competition BBQ team, the Serial Grillers, compete all over the country, holding many titles and awards.

I havent been in a long time 10+yrs. It was fantastic. Food was great, cornbread as good as it ever was. Wings were excellent. Not tiny either we ordered 2 buckets between 3 people. Great flavor and next day they were great for breakfast. Price and service were top notch. Ill be back soon

First time dining in and it was amazing. We had Joshua “Josh” as our server and he was great at walking us through the many options on the menu. We had the nachos which were some of the best nachos I’ve ever had. Josh also recommended the smoke turkey sandwich and I’m so glad I ordered it. Atmosphere is great for a family dinner not loud or overcrowded. Overall, a great experience and will be a frequent customer. Thanks Josh for exceptional service.

What a wonderful experience ❤️ My husband and I were greeted with a wonderful and friendly attitude from the host. The waitress was super friendly and knowledgeable about their food served at the restaurant. WOW the food was absolutely delicious! Family friendly restaurant with a wonderful atmosphere and it’s not too noisey. The price was reasonable too. We will definitely be coming back when we visit the area! I HIGHLY recommend this restaurant if your looking for some DELICIOUS BBQ ❤️

First time visit here. I had their lunch special for that day. Brisket philly w/fries. Amazing! The brisket was tender & the cheese was melty! Prices are reasonable & the service was friendly & quick. Plenty of parking but I’m sure they get crowded. They have a big menu w/lots of great options. I will definitely return to try other things.

Stopped by for lunch and our waitress was amazing. Knew the menu and made excellent recommendations. The pulled pork and sausage were great. Plenty of beer on tap. Potato salad is served hot instead of cold which was nice change. The bbq sauces were little tough getting out with the toppers you had to hold and shake the bottle vigorously to cover your meat. Def recommend stopping by.

This was my first visit and I must say, I was impressed. We started with some corn muffins, which had a hint of sweetness and were served with a generous dollop of butter. Then I had a catfish sandwich and the fish was bigger than my hand. It was moist and flaky … and the coating was crispy, crunchy and delicious. It was served on a toasted roll with lettuce and tomato. The fries were hot and had a special touch which added an extra level of crispness to them. The coleslaw was tasty as well, with just the right amount of moisture. The portions were good sized and the food was very good. My dad had the barbecue pork sandwich and was equally impressed with the flavor. The pork was shredded but also included large chunks. He sampled the various sauces provided on the table as well. I could tell he was pleased with his choice of sides, as both dishes were empty (coleslaw and baked beans). Our waitress was kind and helpful and the restaurant itself was clean and inviting.

Normally, we enjoy County Grill. The servers are always great, they go above and beyond with their service.
However, the host staff could use some work on communication.
We were told when we came in tonight it would be 5-10 minutes for the two of us to get a table. No problem, not a bad wait time. We wait.
Two other parties of 3-4 come in after us and get seated first.
When I ask the hosts what’s going on, they tell us, “we’re waiting on a smaller table to open up for the two of you,” which should have been communicated to us before they prioritized other guests with tables less than a minute after they walked in the door.
If the bar seating is first come, first serve, the normal tables should be also. Or if there’s some special priority on larger parties to get seated ahead of smaller ones, then communicate that it’s going to be a longer wait and larger parties are going to get seated at 4-person tables ahead of smaller parties. Simple.
We walked out. Not going to give money to a place not considerate enough to seat people in the order they arrive or communicate that it’s just a lawless wasteland if you show up with less friends.
Maybe next time we’ll bring more people so the hosts will care enough to seat us.

We had a great lunch at this place. They allowed us to stay at the patio area, since we had our dog with us. We had a great time, food (pulled pork sandwich and basket of wings) and drinks (we had Guinness) were equally delicious, corn biscuits were soft and warm, but service was the best part of our lunch. Amanda was so helpful, so sweet, everything was delivered in a timely fashion. She just took a perfect care of ous and our four-leg companion. We had a wonderful time, planning to come back and asking for Amanda to be our server. Happy thanksgiving
