solid pizza place with consistently good food. It can get busy from time to time, and you may have to wait for a table, especially during peak hours—but it’s generally worth it. The pizza is well made and satisfying, which keeps people coming back. Overall, a dependable spot if you don’t mind a short wait for quality pizza.

We visited August 31 (Sunday), 2025, exploring pizza restaurants closer to where we live, and we ordered St. Louis style pizza. The wait was exceptionally long, to the point that we became very irritated by the time our pizza arrived. Likewise, our server ignored us often. The pizza was good, but not great. We won’t be back, sadly.

Had the lunch buffett. Fantastic as usual. Salad bars are a thing of the past but they have one and it’s always fresh. Pasta always apart of Salad Bar and Pizza Buffet spot on as promised!

I have not had Waldo pizza in about 10 years but had fond memories of the times I had visited the resturant.
I decided to order a couple of things crust pizzas and picked them up on the home tonight.
I ordered a 14″ thin crust mushroom and a 14″ thin crust meatball pizza and was a little surprised that the total for two single-topping (carry out) pizzas came to $49.
I was very disappointed when I got home and we sat down for dinner. Both pizzas were very “dry” due to the little tomato sauce on each and they lacked the flavor that Waldo Pizza was once known for years ago.
Sadly I doubt we will be back because this is not the place we once knew.

It was my first time to Waldo Pizza. It is a nice and clean place with very friendly service! I had one of the sandwich offerings and it was fantastic! Toasted ciabatta bread with yummy meats and veggies with melted cheese. Man, so good! The wedges were also piping hot and tasty. I am excited to return for a pie in the future!

I first came here in February 2002, it was just after the ice storm of the century had just happened earlier. I lived on the Plaza by the Art Institute at that time. I had no power for a week in freezing weather. Thank God for Mr Heater. So, I would hang out in restaurants and bars to eat and get heat. I went to Waldo Pizza a little time after the ice storm. I guess my girlfriend and I were the first in the restaurant right after the storm. Just as the place re-opened. The owner Phil Bourne took our order himself. We ordered a couple Pizzas and beers the owner said you guys like ribs we said yes. That was it. We got our beers head to the salad bar!! We comeback to the table there are two baskets of rib tips the owner said it was on the house. Phil said the place just had been opened for maybe 6 hrs so far. Everything in the walk-ins had to be thrown away the next morning. So, Phil said not wasting any food. He said is that cool. Ah yeah! The two Pizzas must have been 2lbs each. Both pizzas were thin crust pizzas at least 1″ to 1 1/2″ thick the owner again said if I don’t use these toppings it is pitched. Butter cake for dessert again on the house! After that I don’t know had many times we had been there.
Hell, my Dog loves Waldo Pizza! Delivery people come by with food delivery. Humboldt is a jumping 3 ft in the air when it arrives. I haven’t been in since this group bought it. I Miss the area then. Different today.

We were seated in the bar area; would have liked to be seated in a warmer area. Everything was good with just a couple of comments. Pizza needs to be hotter when it’s brought out. In my opinion, the pizza had a good flavor. There was an ingredient in the sauce that my husband did not like; maybe we’lltry another sauce. We will probably give it another try when we’re in the area.

Great little local pizza place, with good pizza.

It’s not an artisan crust kind of place, but while not bubbly and fluffy – it is still a good tasty pizza crust. The thin crust is also pretty tasty, if you want something light. (They have a gluten-free option for a small up charge, and it is slightly smaller.)

Nice topping selection from roasted garlic, herb roasted potatoes, arugula, eggplant, and Kalamata olives to sauerkraut and sun dried tomatoes.

They have an interesting assortment of sauces in addition to their usual red sauce, they also have a spicy red which is moderately kicky, buffalo sauce, pesto, romesco, taco sauce. They updated their BBQ sauce, and I would say it is pretty good now (for a while it tasted like a cinnamon dessert).

They can handle a pretty large group with a reservation, they even have a large “tap room” in the back which can accommodate up to about 75 people sitting!

They can put on a nice pizza buffet.

The atmosphere is pleasant and the staff are generally friendly.

The salad bar is the best! Bottomless salad bar and it’s a good one. The pizzas are awesome too. The cheeses garlic pizza to start is the best combination of flakey and tasty pizza.
We had a friend join us who was gluten free and they had a great menu options list for her. The gluten breadsticks were awesome, not just dense or tasteless (like most GF options can be) they were amazing!
