It’s been awhile since we dined at Joe’s after they closed up some locations in Dallas.
During this road trip to San Antonio, we had a great experience revisiting our long time favorite restaurant.
Hubby enjoyed his seafood lasagna. My Crab Daddy Feast was DeLish! Clam chowder was flavorful as well.
Our experience was good on its own but adding April’s excellent service, it’s phenomenal.
Highly recommended.

I was in town to enjoy my Birthday week and Joe’s was calling my name!! The view was the evening on the Riverwalk in Summertime, IYKYK. Marcus was our server, he was wonderful!! He gave great recommendations, was attentive, and he was cautious of our food allergies (tomato)!! I give Marcus a 10/10, he was a whole vibe!!
Now let’s talk food … We would have ate in silence, but we couldn’t stop raving about every bite!! We had the crab stuffed mushrooms and the crab & shrimp dip for appetizers, oh so good!! The dip was recommended by Marcus as his favorite, and it is now our favorite too!! The mushrooms were also super tasty and come in as a favorite for us too!! 10/10 The pasta (normally has tomato) was made fresh and had tons of flavor, I really loved that the seafood was fresh and the crab meat was big enough to identify, they did not hold back on flavor!! A comment at our table, was the love of different flavors across the meals!! The Captain’s meal was fantastic!! We also had the Shark Attack, which was the perfect amount of tipsy to make me feel like I was eating seafood on a boat!! Lol The whole meal was a 10 and we will be back!!

i had such an amazing experience with Mari the bartender tonight at Joe’s Crab Shack! From the moment we walked in, the service was absolutely top-tier. Our server was incredibly attentive without being overbearing, which I truly appreciate—especially being in the service industry myself. She knew the menu inside and out, gave great recommendations, and answered every question with confidence and enthusiasm. You can tell when someone genuinely understands their job, and she absolutely did.
Everything felt seamless and well-paced. Our drinks were refilled before we even had to ask, the food came out hot and fresh, and she checked in at the perfect times—not too much, not too little. Her timing, communication, and overall professionalism made the entire dining experience smooth and enjoyable.
She maintained such a positive attitude the entire time and handled everything effortlessly. It’s clear she takes pride in her work and cares about her guests. In an industry where great service can really make or break your experience, she truly went above and beyond.
I’ll definitely be coming back, and I hope to have her as our bartender again. Exceptional service all around!

For being right on the Riverwalk in the middle of all the hustle and bustle, this place runs very smoothly! We had reservations so we got seated right away. Our waitress was very friendly and observant to when our drinks needed filled. The food takes a little bit of time to come out, but you can enjoy an appetizer while waiting and survive. The portions were huge, none of us could finish our plate.

We came to Joe’s Crab Shack to celebrate a military graduation, and the experience was wonderful thanks to our server Maricela. She was incredibly kind, full of life, and brought such positive energy to our table. She was attentive, patient, and genuinely made us feel welcomed while we celebrated such an important milestone. Her upbeat attitude and great service made the day even more special. Great food, fun atmosphere, and outstanding service. We’ll definitely be back!

The food was overall very good, with no issues. However, the service was disappointing. Our server displayed a questionable attitude and came across as condescending. Our total bill was $112. We paid $100 in cash and $12 by debit card, which was clearly explained to the server beforehand. Approximately 30 minutes after leaving the restaurant, we noticed that the full $112 had been charged to our debit card, and the $100 cash was not applied to the bill so it was kept by the sever. I attempted to call the restaurant and was placed on hold for seven minutes before the call was disconnected. I called two additional times with no answer. It was only after calling from a different phone that someone answered and I was able to speak with a manager. This situation could have been avoided with honest and attentive service.

We stopped by for lunch. Great atmosphere, decently priced, and most of all, amazing food. Our waitress was friendly and made some great recommendations. The variety appetizer had a bit of everything. The shrimp were well cooked & seasoned. But most of all, the fish and chips were on point. I’d recommend Joe’s Crab Shack for anyone looking for some quick, delicious seafood on the Riverwalk!
