Jax Grill was established in Houston in 1993 at 6510 S Rice Ave. in the Bellaire community. A second location at 1613 Shepherd Dr. opened in 1994. Our counter-service restaurant features a 100% scratch kitchen and live fire mesquite grill. Our menu is highlighted by the classic half-pound Jax Burger, Jax Margaritas and other classic Texan fare. Owned by Paul Miller and Gr8 Plate Hospitality since 2015, we recently expanded with a third location in Katy at 9910 Gaston Rd., Suite 200.

What really sets this place apart, though, is the people. The staff is genuinely warm and welcoming in a way that feels natural, not forced. It’s the kind of spot where a quick lunch can turn into a friendly conversation, and over time, the faces behind the counter start to feel like friends.
Healthy food, consistent quality, and good human energy. Jax’s Grill is one of those places you keep coming back to—not just for the salad, but for the people too.
Best carrot cake I have ever ate. Awesome.
The prices were reasonable compared to most restaurants.
Free parking was a plus and a must because I stopped going to restaurants that charge me to park.
But its good over all
I tried the fried shrimp po’boy, which came loaded with a generous amount of shrimp and fresh veggies. While the bun isn’t your traditional flaky po’boy bread, it was still tasty and held up well. The menu variety is impressive—you can get anything from a burger to a steak (don’t miss Steak Night on Mondays!).
The atmosphere is great for sports fans, with an open kitchen, a central bar, and plenty of TVs. If you prefer to sit outside, they have a large covered patio.
Pros:
Huge parking lot (very convenient).
Wide menu variety.
Open kitchen and great outdoor seating.
Cons:
Restrooms are a bit on the small side.
