Inside, it’s all cowboy-themed, wood walls, cowboy artwork, really fun vibe. It’s a family-owned place that’s been around since 1993.
Our server was friendly and helpful. We ordered the pretzel, the elk loin chop, and the Primal bison burger. The elk was so juicy and flavorful, what a nice surprise. And the bison burger? Cooked perfectly medium, just what I requested.
Honestly, I’m glad we didn’t try to rush back to Phoenix for dinner. Staying and trying Cowboy Club was definitely the right choice.
With that perspective, we recently returned to Cowboy Club to experience its newly revised menu.
Historically, Cowboy Club delivered reliable food without much to linger on.
That has changed with the arrival of Executive Chef David Schmidt, whose refined, health-conscious approach is evident throughout the menu.
Guided by our knowledgeable server, Levi, we started with the cactus fries and macaroni and cheese—crisply executed and luxuriously creamy, respectively, making for a strong opening.
For entrées, my wife ordered the Cattleman’s Cut Filet Mignon with Yukon Gold whipped potatoes, baby carrots, fried shallots, and demi-glaze, plus sautéed mushrooms. The filet was exceptionally tender, the glaze rich and earthy—easily a five-star dish.
I chose the River Gold wild salmon with grilled pineapple-mint chutney and basmati rice, cooked and seasoned to near perfection.
Executive Chef David Schmidt stopped by our table, reinforcing the confidence now evident in the kitchen.
We finished by sharing a flourless chocolate torte and vanilla bean crème brûlée—both balanced and well-executed.
Cowboy Club has clearly elevated its standards. We’ll be returning soon. Ask for Levi—and come hungry.

Our server, Nate, was wonderful—attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed and then some. He even helped point out Snoopy Rock after we tried for 30 minutes to spot it. The food was delicious and hearty, and I especially appreciated the little touches that made the experience feel warm and welcoming.
I highly recommend the Cowboy Club to anyone visiting Sedona. It’s a delightful spot to enjoy good food, friendly service, and a relaxed, scenic patio setting.
Really nice place, service was extremely nice, and the food was incredible.
We had the bison burger, the baby back ribs and the corn bread, and all dishes were amazing.
Then I ordered the chorizo dip.
My wife ordered the steak special.
The food was great!
Server was great.
Good amount of gluten free options!
