Great burgers in a great location.
This location is right in the middle of terminal A at Newark Liberty EWR airport.
I ordered a mushroom Swiss burger and it was great. The burger patties were thick and juicy, there was a good amount of cheese and mushrooms and overall the burger was a great size and flavorful. I also ordered cheese fries and those were good.
I also like that some of the seats are right next to the giant windows. I’m a hardcore aviation enthusiast and I really enjoyed plane spotting and watching the ramp action while eating my lunch on a long layover.

I’ve lived in the United States for over 10 years, visited hundreds of cities and thousands of restaurants, and even worked in restaurants for a long time. I’ve never met anyone as rude and unfriendly as the woman behind the bar. I bought a burger combo, sat down, and went to pick up my order at the counter. This incredibly rude woman told me to move, saying that wasn’t the place to order food. She said it in a completely rude way. While I was eating, she chased away at least 10 people who walked by or interacted with her, swearing at them. She had a terrible attitude and was incredibly rude. This woman clearly hates her job and just scares people away. I’ve never met anyone with such an attitude. She looks at people with disgust. Not even immigration or TSA agents are that rude. I wouldn’t want to imagine this woman in a job where she had legal power! I would never go back to that place and I would never recommend it to anyone while that woman is there. By the way, the cashiers and kitchen staff are very kind and helpful; they shouldn’t have to work with a coworker like that. I feel sorry for them. I’m saying this as a customer; I know everyone has personal problems and their own struggles, but many of us haven’t had a good day, and when we go to a place with public services, we shouldn’t be forced to receive bad treatment just because someone hates their job.

This store is located near the exit gate close to Gate A8 in Terminal A. It’s in front of a huge window looking out to the tarmac, looks absolutely stunning throughout the day with amazing sunlight and views. They open the store very early, it was open when we were at the airport around 7am. Dining area was neat and clean.
The menu has all the SS burgers, shakes, lemonade and bites. On top of that they have special breakfast menu that I haven’t seen in any other SS outside. There’s bunch of egg n cheese sandwiches and hash browns available. Since it was early morning, orders were getting fulfilled quickly. The food had the all familiar taste and quality.

Fresh food, fast service, friendly staff, amazing views of the planes flying in and out!! I was easily able to customize the veggie burger to a vegan burger. Really crispy fries too. Highly recommend this restaurant.

A friend of mine extolled the virtues of Shake Shack back in the day when they were in the park in NYC and had cameras set up so you could see how long the line was. Now there are bunches of them and they’re all pretty good; some are just better than others. This one at EWR Terminal A is one of my favorite airport Shacks and I think does a better job than most. The atmosphere is very chill and they serve beer. Grab a window booth and watch the planes arrive at and push back from the gates.

Love me some shake Shack, so when we saw it in the airport we knew that’s where we needed to eat during out layover. Great food, the burgers are tasty and the shakes are thick and delicious. This location was priced higher than the regular locations, but that’s expected I guess for being in the airport. I was willing to pay for some good food. Thanks for lunch!
