First and foremost, Papa’s Barbecue has the BEST cheeseburgers on this side of town—no question. Top-notch every single time.
The barbecue? Absolutely to die for. Just straight-up good, no hype needed.
And if you haven’t tried their weekend wings… OMG. Next level.
The place itself is clean, welcoming, and well-kept, and the staff is always friendly, kind, and makes you feel right at home.
This is one of those spots you keep coming back to because everything—from the food to the service—is just right. Highly recommend!
If you’re craving real Texas barbecue done right, Pappas Bar-B-Q is a must-try.
Last night I decided to try this place since I heard mix things. Some people say it’s really good, others say it’s bad.
I’m in the bad category.
Placed an order last night online and the order said it would be ready in about 10-20 minutes. Perfect.
Get there right on time. Set the order for curbside, text the curbside number. Wait. Then I wait. Then 15 minutes go past and nothing. So I walk in and stand in a line of other angry customers whose orders are late, missing or just incorrect.
I finally get my food and pay, which I noticed I don’t think my food was under a heat lamp, then I leave.
Open up my food and I could just tell it was not going to be good. The beans were cold, to the point where I said out loud “These needs a thermometer because this is cold.” The macaroni and cheese was watery. Also, who uses shells for macaroni and cheese? That’s a salad item.
The meat itself was dry and lukewarm, didn’t even finish it. Tasted like a soggy shoe.
The bbq baked potato was hot, but the meat on it was chewy and I think they used too much sour cream because all I could taste was sour cream.
Also, I ordered a garlic bread and paid an up charge. It was just a one side toasted piece of bread. Idk even what I paid.
Over all very disappointed in this experience and I hate to say this may be the worst meal I have ever had in Texas. I ended up throwing about 70% away,
We also ordered a tossed salad with pulled pork. I should have taken a picture of the pulled pork, which they must have measured out to be 1/4 pound because it was a very small amount. For $12.95, I expected to have a generous amount of meat for the salad. I had to wait about 5 minutes for the basket to be ready, the buns were toasted on the inside only, brioche buns, cold on the outside. There was plenty of kitchen staff, so many that it seemed that they were bumping into each other and stepping on each other’s toes. We did arrive right at 11:00 a.m. though, which is opening time. Maybe they require lots of staff once they get busier?
Overall, the flavors are the meats was great!!!!! The salad was fresh and great!!!! The portion of meat was good, the fries were cooked just OK. My daughter did love the diced olives on the salad bar!!!!
