The food and service were !

We celebrated our anniversary at Shukette and had such a memorable experience. From the moment we arrived, the energy in the space was vibrant and welcoming. We were seated at the chef’s counter in the middle of the open kitchen, which made the night feel even more special. Watching the chefs prepare and plate the dishes added an interactive, immersive element that we truly enjoyed.

The food was flavorful, fresh, and beautifully presented. Every dish felt thoughtfully prepared, and you can really taste the quality of the ingredients. The atmosphere is lively and the playlist was everything!

What truly stood out was how the team acknowledged our anniversary. They surprised us with complimentary sides and desserts, which was such a generous and thoughtful gesture. It made the evening feel personalized and celebratory without being overdone.

Overall, Shukette delivered not just a great meal, but a full experience. We left feeling celebrated and well taken care of. Highly recommend for a special occasion or a fun, energetic night out in NYC.

Highly recommend!

I am a huge fan of Chef Ayesha, so we went for my birthday and had the best time and the best meal!

We were warmly greeted by the hostess and the restaurant manager (who happened to be at the host stand – very professional!). We had a great booth right next to the window, but I wish we had sat at the bar so I could watch Chef in action (next time!).

The meal was delicious, perfect for family-style sharing and noshing! Everything was fantastic, perfectly prepared, and beautifully presented. The flavors are so cool and unique, but also familiar and comforting.

Frena completely won me over from the very first bite. Soft and fluffy on top with a crispy, almost scorched bottom, the texture was incredibly satisfying. The seasoning looks simple, yet somehow it is deeply addictive. The only downside is that it is way too small and disappeared in seconds. I paired it with the labneh dip, which was also excellent. The chili powder sprinkled on top is the true star. It cuts through the richness perfectly and keeps everything from feeling heavy. The presentation is beautiful as well and instantly brightens your mood. The biggest surprise for me was the grilled fish. It carries a subtle Thai inspired touch, with wonderful seasoning and absolutely no fishy taste at all. The dipping sauce is quite spicy but pairs beautifully with the fish and brings everything together.

This was a meal that left me wanting more and I will definitely be back. The place is very popular, so it is best to arrive right around peak dining time or you will most likely have to wait in line.

Every bite = wow. Outstanding is an understatement. The Labneh, frena, ROASTED CAULIFLOWER, joojeh chicken were all amazingly good. The fish in a cage has a great presentation, it’s good, don’t get me wrong, it’s just I’ve had better whole fish. We also love the mic drop aka tahini soft serve, very interesting! And yummm.

Our server Oriella is wonderful, as well as other staffs, they were all super friendly and lovely. I absolutely adore the experience and would totally come back to try more dishes.

We ate at Shukette in Chelsea and even though we were seated in the outdoor section—which wasn’t the most comfortable—the food and service completely made up for it.

The standouts were incredible:

Shakshuka Braised Heirloom Butter Beans — rich, flavorful, and totally unique.

Grass-Fed Shish Kebab — perfectly seasoned and cooked.

Not Your Average Hummus and the Beet Tzatziki — fun, delicious, and definitely not average!

The staff was warm and on point, and the energy of the place is great. The indoor dining room looked amazing, but they were fully booked, so we’ll definitely try again for indoor seating next time.

Great location near the subway, delicious dishes across the board, and genuinely fantastic service. Highly recommend Shukette!

Delicious, Mediterranean/Middle Eastern cuisine with a casual, comfortable, buzzy vibe. Start with the puffy frena bread and choose a dip— we took the labneh— so good with hot honey, pistachios and dukkeh. There are plenty of vegetarian options— you could easily make a whole meal of the outstanding vegetable dishes. Don’t miss the carrots, beets or cauliflower— creative, colorful, and flavorful. We also had the tender yogurt marinated 1/2 chicken that was comfort food at its best. Save room for the soft serve. All the dishes are meant for sharing so bring friends. They have a full bar and lots of wine options along with plenty of non alcoholic beverages. I’m going back and getting the fish in a cage next time— looked amazing and our neighbors assured us that it was.

Definitely worth all the stars! We went a couple minutes before it opens and were able to be seated at the counter. When we left there was a line, so either grab a reservation or go early. There are plenty of counter seats.

Every dish is fantastic.
* The Frena is MUST. It’s fully and soft like cloud with crispy bottom.
* Hummus was the best I’ve ever had.
* Squash had this great contrasting texture between the caramelized full-of-fiber skin and the soft, sweet, juicy inside.
* Beef kebab was juicy and tender
* Fish was marinated with lemon and some herb so it’s lightweight tender and refreshing
* we had the ice cream with apple and tahini twist together. I’d prefer it to be all tahini.

Food is amazing! So delicious, layered and nuanced flavors. Incredible bread (especially the frena), and the labneh is my favorite dip. I’ve been twice. First time was great at 5pm opening: excellent service, free coat check, nice ambiance at the bar, and food was brought out in a timely manner.
Went back at 6:45 on a Monday and had to wait 20 minutes. I reserved dining room and was sat in the covered outdoor space. My feet were NUMB from the freezing draft! Service was slow. Food was still incredible. Would definitely return but only reserving bar seating until the summer.

Wed been wanting to come here for a while due to its popularity . It was pretty much as expected, good service, a lot of staff being very attentive and speedy. Not a relaxing experience as the atmosphere is frenetic and food arrives too quickly ( I guess to maximise the turnover). I like middle eastern cuisine but I found the dishes too seasoned and with too many flavours ( and a lot of garlic ). Pretty expensive , our meal (with only a few dishes and 2 glasses if wine each) was over $200. Glad to have tried it but not for me . Qanoon , also on 9th Avenue better in my opinion .

Excellent food and excellent service. Tried out some exquisite Mediterranean food.
Here is everything I tried:

Not your average hummus: silky, smooth and delicious
Frena: soft, fluffy and warm. This was so good that I ordered it twice. Loved the roasted garlic on top.
Braised butter beans: warm, comforting and tangy. A surprisingly tangy take on butter beans. This was a warm hug on a cold winter night. Absolutely devoured it.
Joojeh Chicken: cannot describe how juicy and rich this was. Pair this with the garlic and hot sauce and it’s a perfect combo. The saffron used in the marinade was sooo delicate and brought an amazing aroma to the entire dish and kitchen.
Boureka: stuffed with sweet potatoes and goat cheese, this was a sweet and flaky take on bread.

Loved the entire open kitchen concept where you could see all of your food being grilled to absolute perfection.
