If you’re in Llano, you have to stop at Cooper’s Old Time Pit BBQ. I recently had an incredible meal there that hit all the right notes:
• The Brisket: Perfectly cooked and flavorful.
• The Sides: The potato salad was the ideal pairing for the meat.
• The Dessert: You cannot leave without trying the peach cobbler—it’s the perfect sweet finish to a Texas BBQ feast.
Everything from the food to the atmosphere was top-notch. It’s a 5-star experience all the way!

Been awhile since my last visit, but still very good. The sausage was tough and a little dried out. The Ribs and brisket were very tasty. Been, nothing special, taters were good. BBQ sauce was a disappointment, too much vinegar for my taste buds. Just grab a picnic table and start eating

If you are here for the pork ribs, It wasn’t the best. Sort of dry and not much flavor. The pork chops were juicy and tender. With an amazing flavor. The coleslaw was good. Friendly staff, quick service.

First time here and it was Very good, meat was cooked just right and not dry at all!
Pretty cool inside area and cool to look at the pits – everything was delicious and green beans were tasty with the onions and bacon cooked into it (that’s how I cook them at home)

Must try for sure if you haven’t !!

Stopped on road trip and this is legit BBQ! Beef ribs, brisket, and pork ribs were all amazing. It was all outstanding and we ordered way to much but was worth it.

This place was not good at all. Not worth the price. The chicken was over salty. The bbq sauce was watery soup with no flavor. They didn’t even mesure what you ordered. It was $22 for not even a link of sausage. Of the pour of brisket we had so much of it was hard as a rock.

Restrooms were dirt. The bench almost broke and felt unstable. The place didn’t feel clean at all and there was dust on the clear plastic over the “fixings”.

I wasn’t sure heaven existed—until I met the cobbler. One bite, and I was a believer. Hands down, the best cobbler I’ve ever tasted. Pro tip: don’t choose between the apple and blackberry—get both. They’re divine. The smoked prime rib? Absolute standout. The rest of the BBQ? Solid, but not life-changing. Still, that cobbler alone earns this place a strong rating.

If you’re chasing real-deal Texas BBQ, look no further than Cooper’s Old Time BBQ. Hands down, this is the best open-pit barbecue we’ve ever had — and we’ve tried plenty. From the moment you walk up to the massive pits and pick your meats right off the fire, you know you’re in for something special.

The staff is friendly, fast, and clearly proud of what they do — and they should be. These are true BBQ masters at work. The meats? Unbelievable. Juicy, smoky, tender, and packed with flavor. Whether it’s the brisket, ribs, sausage, or that legendary pork chop, every bite is straight-up perfection.

The sides were solid, too — great complement to the main event — and the sweet tea? On point. Cold, refreshing, and exactly what you want with a tray full of smoky goodness. The whole place has a fun, laid-back vibe where you feel like part of the family, even if it’s your first time through the door.

Cooper’s isn’t just a meal — it’s a Texas BBQ experience you’ll be talking about for a long time. Worth every mile. Worth every bite. 10 out of 10, no question.

A disappointing and unsatisfying taste of Texas BBQ. I ordered the brisket, which was overcooked and past tender, not in a good way. This made for an incredibly unsatisfying bite, and unappealing presentation. Moving past that I gave it the old college try, initially I found the taste to be great. Unfortunately, this was quickly overshadowed by the extreme amount of salt on the meat, which was emphasized by the complete lack of smoke flavor. This was overpriced brisket pot roast essentially. Those around me also commented on the intense level of salt across the different cuts.

Food aside, the staff was friendly, atmosphere was classic bbq, and that is unquestionable. But don’t stop here for food, it’s not worth it.
