The sum of the stars does not equal the final rating. A beautiful Sat afternoon. Clear blue sky. Hot son. And a huge crowd on Silky’s patio. Absolutely no one inside. There were no tables when we can in but once we started to leave, the gate keeper called us back. I’ll let you decide how many people were there but there were 4-5 servers trying to keep them fed and watered.
When out server came she told us the wait for food was over and hour. She said she could get gumbo and some appetizers sooner.
So we ordered a couple beers and some gumbo. The beers came in 10 min. The gumbo in 30. The gumbo was surprisingly good. Guinness draft is always good.
The place stayed jam packed. This is no criticism of our server. She did what she could. They just weren’t ready for the crowd.
We never saw the Irish diving Goats or the authentic piece of the Blarney Stonde. But we did drink some beer and eat some gumbo so it’s all good.

We sat down and had a couple dozen raw oysters on the half shell on a Wednesday afternoon about 5:30. It was quiet but we won’t forget it. I love buildings with history and this one that won’t be forgotten. The facade is braced with steel girders to prevent it from falling over. Seeing the building from the outside was fascinating. Inside was a totally different story. The ambience was being in a bourbon street bar. That’s just my experience though. I love the piano and the chandeliers and the old mixed with the new. Our service was great and the oysters were incredible.

If you’re visiting Beale Street in Memphis, Silky O’ Sullivan’s is an absolute must! We went during the day and had an incredible time listening to awesome live music. Buddy the great entertainer played all of our requests, which made it an extra fun and personal experience.
The drinks were perfect for day drinking. I especially loved having coffee with spirits to keep the energy going. The staff was unbelievably friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home from the moment we walked in!
I was surprised there was no cover charge, especially considering the quality of the entertainment. Prices were very reasonable, especially for a prime spot on Beale Street. They have live music going throughout the day and night, so no matter when you stop by, you’re guaranteed a great show!
Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for great music, friendly service, and an authentic Beale Street experience without breaking the bank!

Lots of “Gator” fans in town for a game. Outside area for live music was almost full. BBQ plate and Rueben sandwich. Portions were on the small side and luke warm. My wife ordered onion rings and they sent fries. Difficult to get a server to correct that mistake. Just okay probably won’t go back. Live music was okay. The beans were sweet here also. Not from bbq sauce. From something else in the beans(cinnamon-nutmeg). Had a few beers and walked Beale street.

Walked in on a whim and had had a lovely lunch – so good I forgot to photograph the dishes… I had the fried catfish basket – hot, tasty, and the coleslaw was amazing. My husband had the brisket sandwich, which also disappeared quickly. Our bartender let us in on a kind of local secret, a restaurant above BB King’s that is a neighborhood favorite. (Sorry, secret’s out now.) Lovely, lovely folk behind the bar, and a proper dive atmosphere – we returned later in the evening to enjoy the dueling pianos entertainment, which was also amazing. Beale Street is filled with bars & souvenir shops, and Silky’s is unforgettable!

Traveling home to Pennsylvania and we had to stop in Memphis and visit Beale Street. Many eating options on Beale Street but we decided on the Silky O’Sullivan’s. My son wanted the brisket, and I had the brisket sandwich. Very good service since they were just opening up for the day and getting ready for live music. Plenty of seating and good food and drink options. Paid parking close by. Enjoyed Silky O’Sullivan’s on Beale Street.

No matter which door you go in, it’s always good. I’ve been to a bunch of other spots on Beale and tonight (Tuesday) I think I got the best food so far.
It’s a place open since 1973 and a lot of people come here for the oysters and beer. Known for large crowds of party people.
Has live diving goats. See the video.
And the service by Katy so Awesome made thing that much better.

Fun time food and drinks were good. Came back a second time to watch entertainment. Buddy Albert was very entertaining. Took requests and interacted with the crowd. He is very talented and can play a great variety I ety of songs 50s through present.
