Kerala Restaurant in Rome seems to be quite a hit among the Malayalee community in the city. For anyone visiting Rome, it’s almost a must-visit spot for at least one meal if you’re craving some familiar flavors from home.
They offer a variety of Kerala snacks, including banana fritters, vadas, and more. We tried their thali lunch, which was decent, though the beef and porotta weren’t something I’d particularly recommend.
We also happened to meet the partners of the restaurant, who were very kind and even helped us find a taxi to move around the city. Overall, it’s a nice place for a meal or two — especially if you’re missing a taste of home in Kerala.

I must say – THIS PLACE OFFERS BEST FOOD for Kerala Food.
We tried many things from there – loved all of it. But their Kerala Thaaali is exceptionally YUMMY!

We were greeted and served by Jobin. He is so kind, served us so well. We absolutely loved the food and the experience there.. so much that we went back 3 nights in a row. Jobin made the experience for us a lot smoother along with the sweet owners!
Thank you again for the Kerala touch in Italy.

Visited this while in Rome. It is an authentic Kerala restaurant if you’re craving true Kerala flavours. Best to try: kappa and fish curry, ellum kappayum, and meals.

From the very first visit, I was impressed by the incredible taste and quality of the food. Every dish is rich in flavor, perfectly spiced, and feels just like a homemade meal from Kerala. Whether it’s the aromatic biryani, the delicious curries, or the freshly made breads, everything is prepared with great care and authenticity.

The food at Keralam was fantastic! We had veg Thali, masala Dosa, medhu vada, paruppu vada and uthappam. Service by Jobi was excellent. Portion size was big and the price was cheap for such great food. Highly recommend the food here. This is not the place to go for ambience. However, if you are looking for authentic south Indian food in Rome that is cheap, this is an excellent place. Thali at 7 Euros came with a good portion of rice, 2 sundal varieties, 1 kootu, sambar and rasam. Every dish tasted great. We got food for the evening as well. We also came back the next day and packed food for our trip.

I’m a Keralite, so I know my Malayali cuisine. After stuffing our faces with Roman cuisine for a couple of days, and after a LOT of walking around, we dragged our exhausted behinds to this restaurant instead of ordering in. What a brilliant decision that turned out to be! My wife and I were quite astonished at the spice level, especially considering we were visiting from Germany, the land of bland food. The beef fry was just the perfect “touchings” for the beer, while the beef curry and parotta hit all the right spots. Kallappam with fish curry was absolutely delectable, while the beef cutlet had the perfect exterior crunch, with the stuffing melting in your mouth. For those in Rome, I’m very jealous that you have this option! I hope more Italians try this out and learn that Indian food is not only butter chicken & naan.
