The service was mediocre at best. We visiting from Texas and did not feel the love at all! Food came out so fast there’s no way it was fresh. Certainly did not taste freshly made. Do not recommend going here. Way too many other places to choose from. Restaurant is however a very cool place. But they didn’t have any music playing at all and was not lively. One of the servers, Max (wasn’t our server) took the time to tell us a few places to check out while we were in town. He was very helpful and the only reason I felt obliged to get them one star at all! Thanks Max!

Maria’s has been my family’s home away from home for our annual Santa Fe Christmas vacation. Although we’re sad that they don’t have the margarita book to order off of anymore, Gerardo, Victor, Manny and Omar make the best margarita in town hands down. Chris has been a wonderful manager and always provided us a warm welcome as well. My only suggestion is to bring back Cointreau & the margarita book but that’s not going to stop us from coming here.

We had a group of 9 and they sat us quickly. I had Carne Avavoda and it was tasty. The flour tortilla is the size of a hubcab and homemade. The tamales are homemade as well. I would come back.

My husband and I used to love coming to Maria’s every Tuesday before covid because they had an incentive card where we could get great deals. We came to eat here one time since and I saw a roach in the bathroom so we hadn’t been back. We used to enjoy eating the red chile ribs so we decided to give it another try. I think they only had one server because service was so slow. We also ordered the appetizer green chile meatballs and those were delicious. And hot! The ribs tasted like they were warmed in the microwave – slightly rubbery and not like we remembered them – falling off the bone. Disappointing. $36 and some change and we drank water.

We waited in the vestibule about 5 minutes before anyone acknowledged our presence. We were seated and served chips and salsa, which were very good. We ordered margaritas, which took about 20 minutes to arrive (note that the list of margaritas at the restaurant is much shorter than the list online). My margarita was called Pink Cadillac ($19), but should’ve been called pink lemonade as there was no discernible trace of alcohol and mostly ice. My wife’s margarita had alcohol, but she said it was wasn’t very good. I ordered green chile chicken flautas, which were excellent. My wife said her fish tacos were dry, but she added some of my green chile sauce. Overall, prices were reasonable (except the margarita), services was slow, and food was very good. The margarita was a major letdown.

We visited twice during our weekend in Santa Fe. Lunch was amazing- both posoles and the green chili pork stew were flavorful and yummy. Generous portion sizes and sooooo delicious.
We came back for dinner another night. The service wasn’t as good, but the margaritas were strong. Portion sizes were generous too! The nachos were ok but soggy in places.

Good food, TONS of margarita options! Quirky building, friendly staff. Maybe too many margarita options to keep up with – the bar tender hadn’t heard of one of the options we’d selected from the menu and they were out of some key ingredients (like jalapeños). No good vegan options for food but would definitely recommend to anyone without dietary restrictions.

Very sad tonight. The restaurant had nearly no staff and customers. After asking what’s going on we found out that new management fired much of the staff. Chris a manager was always a positive face. Many others resigned. Needless to say morale was very low! We still had good service from the remaining people working and the meal was delicious.
Worried that mis management is going to close down this wonderful institution. It needs to be sold to someone who is interested in keeping the tradition alive. Not cutting service to the bare minimum. It’s a favorite Santa Fe restaurant of ours!
