First time having a meal here and I loved everything about it from the decor to the food. We had the Clam Chowder to start off and were pleasantly satisfied. For entrees, we chose the Steak and Shrimp dinner with mashed potatoes and brussel sprouts, and the Pan Seared Sea Bass over rice with roasted broccoli. Both meals were outstanding in flavor and presentation. Portions were decent. For dessert, we tried the Chocolate Motherload Cake and the Carmel Pecan Butter Cake and oh.my.goodness were they delicious. I look forward to going back to try different menu options, so many I want to try. Great atmosphere.

I haven’t been to a claim jumper steakhouse in over 30 years. I went today with my follower to celebrate his 87th birthday. I found the decor to be a pretty cool looking restaurant pretty large. I found the waiter not very personable and I found the food to be not fresh tasting. I wasn’t alone in this thinking either. I was happy they had some gluten-free options. My dad did get a piece of cake with a candle so that was nice. Not sure I’ll ever make back for another visit unless Dad insists.

Despite the fact that my wife and I have been making fun of the name of this restaurant for years (due to her bad eyesight reading the name as “Clam Jumper”, kicking off years of terrible jokes), we’d never dined here before this last weekend, when we were invited to celebrate our friend’s birthday here. Not knowing what to expect, the end result was us being happily surprised with just about everything, from start to finish.

Other than a somewhat aloof and inattentive server, who also seemed to disappear for long stretches at the worst possible time, things were smooth and pleasant. My wife and I ordered drinks and entrees, which arrived in the correct order, and at expected times. My wife had the salmon oscar, whereas I went with the sliders, as I wasn’t feeling particularly hungry, and thought I would share them with our toddler son.

Portions were sizeable for the price, leaving everyone fat(ter) and happy by the end. The sliders (3) could nearly pass for a full-sized burger to some people, and my wife loved her salmon oscar; initially she was concerned that the two main components (salmon and crab) wouldn’t mesh well, but her fears were assuaged upon the first bite, and by the end, she said it was one of the most enjoyable dishes she’d had in a while. Considering how much she enjoys seafood, that is high praise.

It may be part of a chain, but as far as I’m concerned, the Claim Jumper stands about as being above board in terms of quality, price, and even service, despite one rather grumpy server. Although with chain locations, things such as quality and value can rapidly swing the other direction, so take everything I’ve said with a grain of salt. But if things remain at the level that we experienced this past weekend, then I would expect that just about anyone will walk away from their experience here content, and with plenty of leftovers.

A beautiful large venue the food was good, the service was spot on but wow time for an update! Broken down chairs, chairs torn in the seats and just overall drab.

We had a pleasant experience overall. The service was great, our bartender was attentive, friendly, and provided prompt service. We sat in the bar area, which had a casual and comfortable atmosphere. Our food and drinks arrived fairly quickly. We shared a cheeseburger (which I didn’t get a photo of), and I especially enjoyed the wedge salad and dessert.
The happy hour is a standout, running from 3:00 PM to 10:00 PM Monday through Thursday, with great offerings at reasonable prices. However, the steak prices were on the higher side, and the main dining area didn’t quite meet the expectations of an upscale steakhouse in terms of ambiance.
The location in Tualatin is convenient, with ample parking available. While I might not choose it for a fine dining steak experience, I would definitely return for their happy hour.

The Southern Fried Chicken was really good! The veggies were pretty peppery and we had to ask for more gravy, but all in all, it was really good. Our server was very nice too!

I’m not a fine dining, over 15$ restaurant kind of guy, just wasn’t part of my childhood, nor young adulthood, so I was a little disappointed, that I couldn’t order a bowl of mac and cheese, without ordering the lobster mac and cheese. not a big fan of seafood personally.

outside of that the food was great, I ordered a bacon mac and cheese burger, 10/10 would order again, the server behind the bar had a great smile, and was friendly, but can’t say I’m gonna come back again unless dragged by my friends, it would be awesome if they added an adult sized regular or bacon bowl of mac and cheese.

I was expecting a much better steakhouse when I walked in. My server was amazing and very friendly, the atmosphere gave off a better vibe and the food was about the same as you would expect at a Sizzler. The prices are more inline with a higher end steakhouse but the food was severely on the cheap cut selection. I wouldn’t go back even for the great staff.

I do not recommend going here for Thanksgiving. I made reservations for 12:30 pm for 5 people and specifically requested a table because my mother needs to sit on her walker. We arrived on time for our reservation but had to wait 45 minutes to be seated. And were only seated after I repeatedly asked when we would be seated. We were also placed at a booth instead of a table even though I had specifically requested a table. It was large enough that my mother was able to sit at the end of the table on her walker. But made it much more difficult for any of us to get up to use the restroom. We also had a six year old AuDHD child in our party. By the time we were seated he was so overstimulated by the wait and the environment that his mother and I had to haul him of the restaurant which made a scene. This is TERRIBLE customer service. They were so OVERBOOKED that EVERYONE had to wait well past their reservation times to be seated. I DO NOT understand HOW this is acceptable for a restaurant? Don’t ruin your Thanksgiving by going here. It’s not worth it.
