This place really brings the Louisiana bayou style cooking to the north. Stopped in there and had some gumbo and jambalaya as well as their banana pudding. Let me tell you that I had zero complaint I was quite literally 100% satisfied. The food tasted amazing every bit of it. I will definitely be back. They had a good bit of service coming and going as well as pick up orders for food to be delivered. My wife which doesn’t like gumbo style foods tried it and really enjoyed both the gumbo and even more the jambalaya. Gumbo is a little bit thicker and jambalaya is a little bit more soupy but I will tell you both amazing!! Please go check them out. They are a hidden gym inside this square but definitely worth going to they are just before TAPS. It’s a little bit of a small place so I would like to see them get a larger room for better seating which is the only con to this amazing place that I didn’t realize was here.

Please forgive the picture of the snapper in a to-go container on their table. We needed to take the food back to Morgantown, so we ordered it to-go but ate some before we left. In short, this was the best Cajun food I have ever tasted. My wife and I were traveling back to Morgantown from Huntington, and despite my objection, she wanted to stop here. I am not a Cajun guy. We arrived shortly before they closed, and both women were nice as could be. We tried the shrimp étouffée and snapper étouffée, both on rice, along with the chicken sausage gumbo. The food was served nice and hot, the flavors of everything were wonderful, and I am thankful I saved the rest of the snapper for tonight. I am still not a Cajun guy, but I will follow my wife’s lead here and will make this our stop when we visit Huntington again. It is just too good. For the friendliness and wonderful food, my wife and I highly recommend this place.

Take my dad to this cool spot occasionally (he lived in Louisiana once upon a time). Most recent visit was last week before an MU basketball game. They had a nice dinner crowd. The staff is super friendly, the atmosphere is cool and the food is really, really good. My favorite is the Shrimp Etouffee over rice – delicious. Highly recommend.

If you’ve been thinking of trying gumbo stop and haven’t yet, just do it. The environment is so homey and inviting. The food is the same, it’s amazing. I’ve had it 3 times in the past 2 weeks. Not too much seating inside but there’s outdoor seating and they have a room beside the restaurant for extra seating. You can tell they care about their customers and the food. 10/10!

This is my favorite restaurant in all of Huntington. I’m originally from the south and I can guarantee you that the food here is 100% authentic and delicious. Very well priced too. Everything in my picture here plus the 2 bags of chips and 2 drinks all ran only about $27 and that was after tax. I highly recommend the lunch special.

Both the gumbo and the jambalaya had the right amount of spice for our tastes. And there were multiple bottles of hot sauce available if you like things hotter.
