Never a bad experience with City Barbecue! This is our favorite BBQ spot in the area as the food is consistently good, service is very friendly and prompt, and the restaurant is clean. There are plenty of main options and sides available. They also have some really good desserts! Make sure to ask for a few sides of complimentary pickles to go with your order. They have a bunch of sauces, too, with my favorite being the Swine Wine. It’s a vinegar based sauce worth a good kick of heat from the added chili flakes.
I usually go with the half bird with mac and cheese and potato salad as my sides. The portions are healthy, so I have plenty to save for another meal. Make sure you stop in for a good meal!

This was our first time here, and since we weren’t sure what to order, we asked the staff for recommendations. As soon as they heard it was our first visit, they generously let us try several sides — such amazing service!
Everything we tasted was delicious, but we especially loved the sandwiches, the brisket and the chicken ones were incredible. There was also a corn-based pastry/cake that was sooo good！
Great food, warm and welcoming service, and a wonderful first experience overall. I’ve already recommended this place to my friends and will definitely be back!

Ruth was wonderful in offering recommendations! The establishment was clean, and all of the condiments were filled! The food was a 10 out of 10! We got the sampler with three meats and two sides—trying the brisket, pulled chicken, and pulled pork, with corn pudding and fries as our side. We finished every single bit of it! Amber was also sweet and kind, and stopped by our table and asked if we needed anything! Great experience!

Delicious food as always. I e eaten in, carried out, and most recently, had a large food order we had to change a couple of times due to weather and circumstances, and they made all necessary adjustments for us without any problems. Everything was perfect and the fact you can actually talk to a person when you call is awesome.

A good local place. One the best chicken sandwiches around Dayton. Be careful it’s spicy. The pulled chicken sandwich didn’t have anything in it. But the sauces were good. The sides hush puppies, coleslaw and Mac and cheese. All of them were good. Haven’t tried the BBQ yet.

This is the best place for food service and atmosphere. If you don’t try this place once and return there’s something wrong with you. Awesome people awesome food, and make sure you bring that dang bell on the way out the door they are angels there. The food is heavenly, and the atmosphere is like home. I can’t say enough good things about this place and I’ve only been there twice. This second time I introduced a guy that works right down the street that is never ate there and he his mind is blown if you are in the area or not it’s worth the trip go there try it and you’ll be back just like Arnold Schwarzenegger. Love you guys at City Barbeque. You’re awesome.

Love love love city barbeque! Especially the corn pudding, just like I enjoy making without having to dirty the dishes at home. Talk about comfort food. I haven’t had a chance to try any actual bbq except for the burnt ends pork belly when it was on special. I’ll be going back for some ribs soon!
