Food is very good. Service is okay. Disappointed is the tip charge. They auto charged 18% but didn’t mention it to me. After tapping my credit card, a page pop-up for tip. I tapped 20%. The waiter watched it and didn’t say anything. So finally the tip became 38%. On the receipt, The total doesn’t include the extra 20% tip. tricky!
I know I should view it carefully but the tip setting is misleading.

Horrible experience – They bring the corn without sauce – the server says the sauce is dumped in top of the corn – this is unheard. I love Peruvian food but this is not it. I asked to get a cup to put the sauce and they said that normally people eat it like this but they can bring it – asked for the manager and they said he is very busy so they left me waiting … until I stood up and left because it was not worth it …

Edit review:
As I was leaving, I tried to get a hold of the manager Marco – He was very busy but he attended me with so much professionalism and kindness. He listened and apologized and in addition offered to redeem the experience – He assigned a female server, which was excellent and Made sure everything went smoothly

Thank you Marcos for caring.

The fish fillet with pesto pasta is delicious and very big

Highly suggested it

First time customer and WOW!!! I live 45min away and it was worth the drive! Ceviche was amazing and so was the chaufa de Mariscos! The portions for both were huge! Double the amount you typically get at other Peruvian restaurants. Service was fast and friendly! Place was packed and our waiter was still quick! Definately recommend and will return! Thank you!!!

I’m very disappointed with how this restaurant handles billing. The food was good, but the charges and lack of transparency ruined the experience.

When the bill arrived, I noticed 2 items cost more than the prices shown on the menu. I only caught it because I had compared two drinks beforehand. I also realized the tax charged was 7.99% instead of the standard 7% in Miami.

My lemonade didn’t arrive until the meal was already at the table, yet an automatic 18% tip was added for just 2 guests, plus a card processing fee, and suggested tips of 18–30% on top of the included one.

After multiple back-and-forths, and only after asking very firmly, the waitress finally removed the 18% tip. I explained that I was willing to tip, but I wanted to choose the amount myself—especially because of how the bill was handled, the unexplained fees, and the price discrepancies and not great service.

What shocked me most was that after removing the 18% tip, she added new charges that were not present on the original bill. When I questioned those extra charges, she insisted they had been there all along and called them “internal fees.” That was simply not true—the math didn’t add up before, and those charges appeared only after the changes. (Attached receipt shows the sudden addition of fees with “+” such as the +$1.12 medium etc., which were not previously displayed.)

This is absurd. Many customers may not notice, or may not want to spend the extra 10 minutes questioning a few dollars, but it’s a matter of principle. Menu prices should match what customers pay, fees should be disclosed, and staff should not add charges out of spite or push back when a customer requests corrections.

What is completely unacceptable is that after raising concerns, the server added new fees and tried to make me feel ignorant for asking about them.

I will be calling management tomorrow to request reimbursement for the extra charges added at the end.

Sadly, despite good food, these billing practices and the customer service make me unwilling to return or recommend this restaurant until they address these issues.

Food is great and the service is usually pretty fast. We ordered the Chaufa Mariscos, Ceviche de Pescado, and Lomo Saltado. All delicious, authentic and very generous portions. Pricing on the menu is reasonable.

However, you need to check your bill carefully. An automatic 18% service charge is added, and on top of that, on the bill it suggests additional tip options that go up to 30%. Most people probably don’t realize the 18% is already included and may add more without knowing. This feels deceptive and not transparent.

If it weren’t for this tactic, I would give them 5 stars. They should either raise menu prices by 18% or clearly inform customers when presenting the bill that the service charge is already included.

After being a solid customer of 10 plus years I’m disappointed with the service provided today 1) the server demanded a tip cancelled my transaction when I did not include tip for a pick up order 2) when I got home the order wasn’t even what I ordered or paid for. Not interested in this kind of service – sad to see this treatment in one of my favorite places of Miami – now time to look for a new Peruvian place

The food was delicious and full of flavor. I loved their papa a la huancaína, the beef fried rice, and the seafood a lo macho… so tasty and fresh. The passion fruit fresh juice was amazing too!

The portions are generous, the staff is friendly, and the vibe is super casual and welcoming. If you’re craving real Peruvian food, this place is a must-try!

Very poor experience and complete lack of transparency
I have visited Sabor Peru many times before, but I have never had such a bad experience as this one.
During this visit, I ordered exactly what I usually do: two Corona beers, a ceviche, and a seafood soup. In previous visits, this same order never exceeded $66, and I was always given the receipt to review before paying.
This time was completely different. An automatic 18% gratuity was added without informing me or showing me any receipt, and the total came to almost $80.
What is most concerning is that the employee who processed my payment signed the receipt without my consent. I personally saw her sign the bill in front of me using red ink.
Because of this, I called the restaurant to request an explanation. The response was extremely disappointing. I was told that:
They never provide receipts (which is not true, as I have received them in the past).
The transaction was correct.
The server did not sign anything, and that the initials “CP” were placed on the receipt because I paid with a credit card.
This explanation is not entirely true, since I clearly witnessed the receipt being signed with red ink in my presence.
To be clear, I am not opposed to an 18% gratuity, but customers must be informed, shown the receipt, and no one should ever sign on behalf of a customer.
This situation shows a total lack of professionalism, ethics, and transparency in how payments are handled. Very disappointing experience.
I do not recommend this restaurant as long as they continue operating this way.
