On a cold day hot pancakes, sausage, biscuits and gravy is the type of comfort food that warms your spirits. Although when delivered you want your eggs just right – soft not hard scrambled eggs, you want the temperature of your entire entree “HOT” not lukewarm— unfortunately Perkins failed short in this category. Yet, the very professional wait staff- Shay – saved the day with her aim to please her customers by delivering the fantastic lemon meringue pie and brownie which were a taste of heaven. The four stars is for her cheerful service and ability to uplift the customers dining experience despite some food shortcomings.

Had a great experience at this Perkins location! Our server Alex was fantastic — friendly, attentive, and made the whole visit feel welcoming from the start. The staff went out of their way to accommodate my keto diet without any hassle, which is always appreciated. It’s rare to find a place that handles dietary needs so smoothly. Solid food, great service, and a genuinely pleasant atmosphere. Highly recommend, especially if you have specific dietary preferences — they’ll take care of you. Will definitely be back

It’s been a while since I’ve been to a Perkins, and this time I arrived with a group of roughly 20 people as an evening drop-in after an arena event. The staff was super accommodating, held an area for us, and very promptly got our orders and food. On top of that, the food itself was very tasty. This place probably doesn’t get enough recognition for really trying to be a good option in the Xtreme Arena proximity, but seriously you should consider going with the OG gathering place.

Arrived at 1145am on a Saturday. Sat at the table at 12. 4 adults. Waters delivered. Server comes over and says “hi. What do you guys want? ” placed order at 1211pm. Food arrived delivered by another person at 1254pm. Never saw our server in that time until we were getting ready to get up. She came over and we advised all of our ham was burnt, tater tots were over cooked, and food cold. She grabbed the floor manager, who offered us a muffin. We told him no, we were ready to leave at 1:15pm. We went up to the counter and luckily the regional manager was there. We showed him our food, explained how long it took to get our food, and lack of service. We really appreciate him rectifying the problem. He asked me to send the photos of the food as he was going to be having a meeting with the GM shortly and would be addressing the issue. He even offered us a pie to take home, which we declined. Our meal was taken care of. Because he took the time to rectify the problem, I would give them another chance. This was my first time being there as I’m just moved to the area. He is the reason i gave it 2 stars.

Absolutely amazing experience from start to finish. The food was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. The staff was welcoming, attentive, and made us feel right at home. Service was quick without feeling rushed, and the atmosphere was clean and comfortable. This place easily deserves five stars, and we’ll definitely be coming back. The customer service alone earns five stars. The staff was friendly, professional, and truly went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. The food came out hot and delicious, and our drinks were always refilled. It’s rare to find a place that gets both service and food this right. Hands down one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time. Every dish was packed with flavor and clearly made with care. Portions were generous, presentation was great, and everything tasted incredible. You can tell quality is a priority here. Highly recommend to anyone looking for excellent food and a great dining experience. Alex was a fantastic waitress and we enjoyed every bit of her help and hospitality.

We were greeted as soon as we came in. Asked to wait a few minutes while they prepped a table since we were dining in (no big deal). Waitress was super attentive and understanding since it took us a minute to look through the rather extensive menu and decide what we wanted. The breakfast skillet was fabulous with a great balance of flavors (and really filling). The Fast Five was also delicious and well balanced wish we’d ordered a dessert to go but we still had a 4 hour drive so we passed but the pies looked incredible.

Our server, Jessica, was amazing. We had an early dinner on new years day and it was busier than we anticipated. Jessica was managing more than a single section of tables seamlessly. She was polite and patient when I asked her to repeat menu options for me. The food was pefectly cooked and I appreciated how well the front and back of house communicated our food arrived quickly and tables were promptly cleared.

Had another great dinner at Perkins in Coralville. Our waitress, Alex, was very attentive and took great care of us. I ordered blueberry pancakes and my husband ordered the fish and chips. Good was perfect. Can’t wait to come back!

My son and I arrived at 1120AM on February 17, 2026. I had just finished surgery at the Veterans Hospital.
Was seated promptly, handed menus, was told our server would be right with us. After 6 minutes, we still had not ordered drinks. There was one waitress re-filling condiments who totally ignored us. We left. Will not return. What horrible service.
