Benihana’s hibachi experience is always consistent and entertaining, a great place to celebrate any occasion or just for a nice dinner. The menu offered a good variety of meats and fish all cooked before your eyes and also a good amount of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks to fit everyone needs.
We tried the special menu with the ribeye and A5 wagyu along with the tuna and steak yakisoba dishes. Everything was cooked to our liking and so flavor! Big thank you to our chef, Ramon, for making it such a fun night.
Make sure to make a reservation as there is limited space in the restaurant and can get very busy, very fast. Also, if you park in the garage off state street, you can get validation at the hostess stand before you leave.
Can’t wait to go back!
Our chef Santi was an amazing cook. It was really fun to watch him work and the food came out delicious.
The manager Haylee also came to our table during our visit to help out and made some excellent recommendations on the menu that we ended up trying.
The whole team made it an unforgettable night for us. I would definitely recommend giving it a try!
The food was incredible — fresh, flavorful, and cooked to perfection — and Giovanni’s service truly elevated the whole dining experience. He anticipated our needs before we even had to ask and made us feel so welcome.
If you’re dining at Benihana, definitely ask for Giovanni. Amazing service and great food — a true 5-star experience!
However, I had a very unpleasant experience with their manager, Hayley, and I will be escalating this further. We contacted Benihana to make a reservation and upon calling, she seemed very accommodating saying they can seat our group in the sushi lounge. She asked if we would primarily ordering sushi. We were unsure of what most people would order but figured some would order sushi. She said that’s ok and it’s fine to order from the grill, too.
After we were sat down, we realized we only had one server for our large group and we received our water by the 30 minute mark. Again-NOT the fault of the server. We asked for a second server and thankfully one was able to help after 45 minutes.
After we ordered, our group quickly realized that the vast majority of us ordered from the hibachi menu. Our orders took about an hour and a half for everyone to receive their food. We were not made aware that they would have preferred most of us to order from the sushi menu; however the menus provided had both hibachi and sushi options.
I wanted to provide some feedback to the manager to say it is ok to remind your customers to order primarily from the sushi menu unless there are dietary restrictions in the future for large parties the next time you have a group this large. She stated very curtly, “well-I said to him (my stepfather who made the reservation) that it is to be primarily sushi only-not hibachi!” She then pointed to her seating screen saying “See? It says right here: ‘Primarily sushi only.’” This can actually be taken in a couple of ways: either our party SAID we were going to order primarily sushi or we were instructed to. From our perspective, it was the former since we couldn’t confirm with everyone in the party prior to arrival.
She did not like my feedback whatsoever. She went on to say, “Well, there WONT be a next time because we usually only go through event plannings but because we knew this was for a funeral, we wanted to accommodate.” I did tell her that we very much appreciated it but all I was asking for is to perhaps in the future, remind your guests to only order from the sushi menu if possible. She then went to say something I wasn’t expecting: “Oh, I know what it feels like to be a part of a funeral-I had to bury my three year old daughter so I of all people know how you feel.” Being gaslit by your manager was one of the most inappropriate things I’ve ever experienced as a customer. Hayley does not understand the concept of taking accountability and instead handed me a card for an events coordinator for our “next time.” To throw her deceased 3-year-old daughter into the conversation was completely unnecessary and unprofessional to the max.
As mentioned, atmosphere, food and servers were fantastic. Your manager however? Please feel free to reach out to me to further discuss.
We had Santi as our cook. He was funny, personable, and had great table tricks. He also cooked our steak to perfection! He made it a fun experience.
Even the manger Haylee stopped by our table. She was charismatic and kind. We loved that she was so involved with her team.
Absolutely phenomenal!
Timmy and Olivia made our experience unforgettable! From the moment we arrived, their warmth and attentiveness set the tone for an incredible meal. Every dish was bursting with flavor, beautifully presented, and clearly crafted with care.
The atmosphere was welcoming, the service flawless, and their recommendations were spot-on. Timmy and Olivia went above and beyond to make us feel special—it’s rare to encounter staff who genuinely enhance the entire dining experience.
I can’t wait to come back and will be recommending this restaurant to everyone. Simply outstanding!
Like I’ve said, this was once such a great place to go to for special occasions, as I’ve have done so for 38 years and after tonight, I don’t think I’ll ever go back and will tell everyone the story of cross contamination that was covered up.
I really hope Benihana trains their chefs better and I don’t go back because of this.
Sadly
When the atmosphere changed at the table, we all were in a stunned silence and he sarcastically asked, ‘do you want me to just stop talking?’, my boss (and one of America’s most well respected music tour managers) said ‘I think that would be a good idea…’, he proceeded to huff and puff, with rice flying everywhere… he was carelessly throwing the bowls of rice at us, but when it came to my friend (who was one of the Black women he was aggressively talking to previously), he threw the bowl so hard, it tipped all over her. At this point, she and I got up to leave and we complained. My boss then asked the duty manager to have the chef removed. This was not done immediately and there was some confusion all round. She told me that they are not allowed to mention being on a ‘mission’, let alone any of the other stuff. It seemed that this was not his first infraction.
Of a $900 check, we received a $150 discount. My boss was given the manager’s (Aaron) number to call the next day. She did that and was told he wasn’t available to speak to, so she left her number, explained the circumstances to the guy on the phone – predictably, Aaron never called back.
An utterly disgraceful experience.
